Sharon wants to give the Palestinians a South African Style Bantustan

    Ater a temper tantrum and much arm twisting from the US Sharon wants to give the Palestinians a homeland where Israel controls all the borders, air space and the control of water into the "homeland."

    This obviously solves nothing. Looks like Sharon and Israel need a little more persuading by the US and Britain.

    'Targeted' by the Israelis

    The Palestinians have accused Israel of assassinating more than a dozen peoplesince the intifada began in September last year. They include:

    16 October: An official from the military wing of Hamas, Iyas Ahras, 28, blown up at home in Rafah.

    14 October: A senior Hamas official, Abdul Rahman Hamad, shot by snipers on roof of home on the West Bank border.

    27 August: Abu Ali Mustafa, leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, blasted by missiles fired from Israeli helicopters while sitting at his desk in Ramallah.

    15 August: Imad Abu Sneineh, a member of Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction, shot dead by undercover agents outside his home in the West Bank city of Hebron.

    13 August: Hamas militant Fawaz Badran, 27, killed in an explosion as he was about to open the door of his car in the West Bank.

    5 August: Three rockets fired at the car of Amr Hassan Hudeiri, 21, a Hamas activist and bodyguard to a Hamas leader. He is burnt alive.

    24 June: A member of the military wing of Yasser Arafat's organisation Fatah, Osama Jawabri, 29, killed when the public telephone he was using in the West Bank town of Nablus blows up.

    5 April: Exploding telephone kills Iyad al-Hardan, 30, a member of the Islamic Jihad.

    2 April: Israel kills Mohammed Abdelal, 29, a prominent member of Islamic Jihad.

    19 February: Islamic militant Mahmoud Madani, 25, shot dead leaving a mosque in a West Bank refugee camp.

    13 February: Helicopter killed Massoud Ayyad, an officer in Yasser Arafat's Force 17 bodyguard, as he drove past a Gaza refugee camp.

    31 December, 2000: Fatah activist Dr Thabet Thabet killed backing out his car from his driveway in Tulkarm, West Bank.

    9 November:Hussein Abayat, a district commander of the Fatah militia Tanzim, killed in his truck by missiles fired from helicopters.
