I heard today that the Rockets are trying to explore sign and trade options for Hakeem if he does not sign very quickly. The implication was that the Rockets simply could not go any higher in their offer than they are currently at($4.1 mil?). This seems to indicate that the rest of the money has already been alocated to others.

Since there have been no rumors concerning our other free agents(other than early Mooch talk), I assume that there are already deals in place for them. If this is the case, how much money exists for them, and how would it be distributed (who makes what)?

It seems like they do have deals worked out, the crazy thing is that Anderson, Dream, etc... All have the same agent. Put that info together and you have a big mystery.

Know what sucks...Dan Fecal has 11 clients...3 of which are on our team. Everyone thinks Faulk is the greediest SOB out there, but he has been quiet during the whole Taylor deal. Fecal, has contributed to our hang-up w/ Olajuwon and has said that early bird is too low for Shandon. Luckily, he has been quiet on the Moochie front. Maybe Moochie is truly happy w/ staying here, while the other 2, although would like to stay, but also have $$$ as their priority. I couldn't imagine paying Shandon, over 5 mil to play 15-20 mins a game...talk about serious overpaying.

Personally, I wouldn't mind us parting ways w/ Shandon and Dream. Not that I don't like them, but with what they are asking for is not worth their production.

I mean Dream will be lucky if he gets to 60 games this year...but he can certainly contribute when he is in. Shandon, is a nice fast break guy and does finish in transition but I think we can find other guys like him for cheaper.

Another note, u see what Cato's contract has done to the Dream situation. If Shandon and Dream both get contracts that they aren't worth, our highly touted chemistry may turn to crap. It's what's happening now and it's what happened w/ Kemp in Seattle over the McIlvaine contract.

Rockets be smart w/ your money, don't overpay for age and nostalgia (Olajuwon) and redundency and lack of shooting and playing less than 20 mins a night (Shandon).
