What about Shareef Abdur Rahim? I know the grizz have been toying with anything to break up their roster, given their profound suckiness over their entire history, including trading Shareef, as he is not too happy about the organization. Why not work out this 3 way swap: Rockets Get Shareef Grizzlies Get #1 and 18 and/or 23 Wizards Get 6 and 13 and/or 23 That way, we get a real forward, Wiz can take Rodney White without overpaying for him, and the griz can take whoever they want to make a big splash in Memphis next year. Everybody wins. Is this salary cap-able anybody?
Not a bad scenario, but I'm not sure that the Rockets would give up both their cap space and their entire draft for SAR. Probably one or the other, but not both. The other problem is that Vancouver would be trading SAR just to move up 5 spots in the draft and to pick up a #18 pick. That's probably not enough in return for SAR, but it's an interesting offer, none the less. ------------------ [This message has been edited by aelliott (edited June 26, 2001).]
