I love Shaq. I hope he doesn't become a cop after he retires. Make him the creative director of NBA personnel or something.
I've said it before, I'll say it again: the NBA is gonna suck once Shaq retires. At least from a personality standpoint. There's not one player out there as funny or remotely interesting as Shaq is.

If Shaq would have concentrated on his basketallskills and worked on his FT's instead of pre-game routines he would have been a better player...
He did hit 7 out of 8 FTs last game vs Denver, eh, Enver. Go Shaq and go Suns! I have high hopes that they will beat down the Jazz.
Well he mentioned Phoenix sucks, while Cleveland has the best record in the league. But I do think both of these skits are going overboard. Not overboard because they aren't basketball related (the NBA is ultimately an entertainment show). Overboard because they are repetitive and not funny. Like Dane Cook. And yes, Shaq's was better.
That Lebron intro is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. Lebron is like the rich kid in school who thinks he is funny/cool but the only reason people hang with him is because his parents have a huge house and go out of town a lot so he has good parties. I have never found him to be engaging, creative or witty. You can only forge a guy's persona in the media so much if there is nothing behind the hype. Shaq's deal was a little funnier but the person who said he has "senioritis" in the other thread was dead on. I can only imagine what we will get from Shaq when he is retired and desperately clinging to the spotlight by whatever means necessary.
3rd on the opinion that Dane Cook sucks. I must say, I do come up with some clever pre-game skits. Eat that lebron!
I'd say he is ocassionally funny, but for the most part he isn't. I have no idea why my wife finds him so hilarious.
