    what a load of crap....
Yao never plays against Shaq, are you kidding me?
yao fouled you out and outplayed you 3 times.
sure yao receives help in defending shaq...but yao gets double teamed too...during the playoffs malone sometimes guards yao ming to help o'neal avoid foul trouble, sometimes shaq would guard yao and the lakers would send a help defender like payton, medevenko, or kobe.
shaq= load of crap, i hope yao kicks his ass and someday dunk on his childish arrogance a$$.

    Shaq and Yao renew rivalry

MIAMI — One of the better head-to-head individual matchups in the NBA's Western Conference the past few years has been Shaquille O'Neal against Yao Ming. Only, O'Neal said, they've never actually gone head-to-head.

"He never plays against me," O'Neal said.

Moments after a 90-minute workout with his Miami Heat teammates at AmericanAirlines Arena and a few hours before heading to Houston for tonight's game against the Rockets, O'Neal said he doesn't really know how the Rockets have defended him in the past.

POPULAR PAGES "They put somebody on me, but I don't know who," he said with a smile.

O'Neal had a huge statistical advantage over his 7-foot-5 adversary in their two meetings in Yao's rookie season two years ago, averaging 35 points and nine rebounds to Yao's eight points and 10 rebounds. Last year it was much closer, O'Neal averaging 23 points and 8.5 rebounds and Yao 21.5 points and 8.8 rebounds in their four meetings.

O'Neal's Los Angeles Lakers and Yao's Rockets each won three of the six meetings.

"We just want to play real good aggressive defense, be sharp on offense, play real aggressive," O'Neal said. "We know it's a long season; we don't want to play like it's the seventh game of the finals. We just want to go out, play hard, and get to know each other better."

Coach Stan Van Gundy said he'll hold off making any player evaluations until later in the exhibition season. "I want to get everybody in the game, I'm interested to see how we play, how hard we play, I'm anxious to see it all," Van Gundy said. "But I'm not coming out of that game with any evaluation of our lineup or our rotation based on what happens (tonight)."

Family reunion: Van Gundy faces off against his younger brother, Houston coach Jeff Van Gundy, for the third time tonight; Miami and Houston split their two regular-season games last season.

Asked if it might be "fun" to coach against his brother in more relaxed atmosphere, he thought a minute and replied, "Have a little fun with a basketball game. Interesting concept. I don't know if I've ever looked at a game as fun until it's over and we've won."

He did say he was looking forward to the trip for family reasons.

"He's got a baby, 6 months old, and I haven't seen her. And it's his older daughter's birthday (today). So it's a good family trip for me. I'm looking forward to seeing them."

What I need to get straight to everyone is that the link is the most important thing in posting any article here... and without a doubt more important than the advertisement text. CTRL-A, CTRL-C, CTRL-V ain't getting' it done here.
