http://www.indystar.com/articles/1/194533-7811-036.html Shaq on . . . Nobody waxes poetic better than the "Big Skinny" -- the nickname Dallas owner Mark Cuban has coined for Heat center Shaquille O'Neal. The behemoth formerly known as the "Big Aristotle" offered scattered thoughts on a number of topics this week: • Shaq on the attitude of younger players: "I know how to handle younger players. Because I have children, I know how to adapt to these young-minded juvenile delinquents that are coming into the NBA. I know I am (an elder statesman). However, after I'm gone, I think the league's going to be in trouble. You have (Tim) Duncan and (Kevin) Garnett and those guys, but after those guys, nothing." • Shaq on Yao Ming: "I would say he's the Shaq of Chinese basketball." • Shaq on entertaining fans: "I know people pay good money for these seats. They work their (tails) off at jobs they don't want to be at. Then at 7:30 on certain nights, they want to come into the arena, grab a few beers, look at the cheerleaders and have a good time. That's where I come in." • Shaq on Dallas coach Don Nelson: "He's a weird coach. He's going to have his different lineups. He's going to play his Bobby Fischer style of chess. He was an unorthodox, weird-style chess champion. He was so weird, they can't find him now. But I know where he is. He's a friend of mine." Call Star reporter Sekou Smith at (317) 444-6053. Some information in this report was obtained through an exchange with other NBA writers.
"Yao Ming is the Shaq of the Chinese Basketball" is that even a compliment? i am the Shaq of my drive way basketball you know...
i Shaq has never been anything but a good example for young people except he likes to joke around alot and sometimes it gets him into some trouble with the PC police. He helps in the community, gives to the poor, and does alot of charity work. He's also never been in trouble with the law.
Ditto. The guy's a big dork. I think he expects people to take some of the stuff he says seriously. lol.
Bobby Fischer's whereabouts is hardly news since it's been news for the past several months. He's in Japan (Cue: You Ain't Going Nowhere by the Byrds).
Yeah, but the way Shaq brought it up so casually, and the fact that BF is such a loose cannon, is what makes it funny to me. Out of all the people in the world, Shaq could have name-dropped, Bobby Fischer has to be the most bizarre.
You gotta love shaq he is just too funny esp now that he out of the horrible purple and gold Rocket River
Remember when everybody is craving about kukoc, they say that he is the magic johnson of european basketball. Well, he became a decent player in the nba. A good player the least. But i believe Shaq should have said "Yao is the Shaq of Asian basketball" Now thats better and more acceptable.
