    Game 3 Lakers 105 Spurs 81
    Shaq 28pts 15 rbs, both game high; 11-13 shooting 6-11 FT. In spite of double and triple teaming by the Spurs. He is doing better than he has ever done in round 1.

    How do you account for his superior performance?

    It was Yao's way to get rid of SF. He showed he could neutralize Shaq defensively. Yet, he intentionally pretend he couldnt score. First round exit means SF gets traded. Not to mention he would also get a long overdue vacation.

    Me, too. Especially since the Rockets used this 7' PF to guard Shaq a good bit of the time.

    I gotta agree with gotoloveit2.....YAO is a smart guy. he is the mastermind of the rox organization. The one pullings strings in the background is puppeteer YAO. hahaha. I want YAO to grow an evil manchu mustache and beard.

    All he's trying to see is if people think that

    Shaq is better vs. Yao

    or

    Shaq is better vs. no Yao

    "no Yao" is any other center except Yao.

    Thread is bogus, Ming guarded Malone most of the series. All of you who picked "not playing against Yao" are blinded by Yao love. Shaq does this every year, he sleep walks all season and into the playoffs until it is imperative he step up, it wasn't imperative against the Rox, if that equates to great defense by Yao then so be it, whatever wets your panties.

    why are you trying to argue with him? this bbs is model ecosystem. everything has a ecological niche that needs to be filled. when one species of parasite dies (parasiticus juugiesticus), another will rise to take its place. simple biological lesson.

    SSG is a Yao hater, no doubt, but he has a point.

    From about Game 2 on, whenever Yao and Cato were both in the game, Cato guarded Shaq, which was about 40-50% of the time.

    Go back and watch the tapes if you don't belive me.
