So that was the funniest 30 second sequence I've ever seen. Shaq absolutely destroys Bynum at one end with a ferocious putback dunk, and Bynum returns the favor with a nasty spin move and dunk on the other end. Then Bynum gets a little too excited and shoves Shaq, and Shaq gives him an elbow to the face.

QUESTION: Why was Shaq not ejected?

Juwan was ejected from the Raptors game and suspended for one game for retaliating against Mike James. Shaq should get 2.

It was sweet, but it doesn't beat Boki vs Malone in the 2004 playoffs.

really? I'm sure Shaq didn't feel that shove to his belly fat as much as bynum felt that elbow to his face. He didn't deserve it and I thought Shaq was a punk for doing it to that kid.

Bynum initiated it with an unnecessary elbow then Shaq responded. Shaq isn't about to let some 18-year old punk disrespect him and get away with it. You really shouldn't be surprised and I can't say I would have reacted any differently if I was Shaq.

I don't think Shaq was aiming for the head. I've only seent he clip twice, though, so I could be wrong.

i don't even like shaq but a guy like shaq's gotta put a rookie in his place in that case. bynum's spin and dunk was great but don't go running into a superstar down on the other end and try to show him up like that after you've already shown him up once. plus shaq didn't nail him that hard and the few times i've seen it i don't remember it being a shot at his face. bynum certainly didn't look too hurt.

kid? he is an adult, even though he is young, and he is playing in a professional league. if he is going to buck up to most massive player in the NBA he better be ready to get popped back.

Another strong 4th qtr performance from Kobe...you gotta admit, even though I'm a T-Mac fan its hard to deny the fact that he's having an MVP season...he's just way ahead of every perimeter player out there. Damn, I wish T-Mac was healthy.

About the Shaq/Bynum incident. I think the reason why Bynum was pumped about that dunk of his was b/c of what Shaq said of him in the media. Shaq said something about him not goin to school and being spoiled(NBA), while he had gone to school and is working on his PHD.

the official ruling on the foul was that shaq didnt hit is face, so he wasnt ejected. on the other hand, brian cook got his second tech. for hitting the air........

Yeah Joey Graham was out of control in that game. Brian Cook did not deserve the second T at all.

And Shaq is right. Bynum ought to be in college, and Shaq has every right to tell him so, as someone who himself did the honorable thing and went back to school to get his degree. Little punk kids these days.

The Lakers looked good last night. The Heat didn't look so hot and they have all their guys.

I'll say it again, the Lakers made the right decision on Shaq in the long-term, and that's not just Shaq or Kobe, its not giving him that huge contract.

I don't much care for Shaq either, but I couldn't fault him for reacting that way in that game. Bynum looked like a fool the way he reacted coming back up the floor. And to compound that with throwing an elbow into the most massive player in the league, well, that's just asking for trouble.

Ditto...the kid got too excited and Shaq put him back into his place.

Seriously though...did anyone catch that magnemonousseeennsnes-slamma-jamma-posterization-alas-Shaq-back-in-Orlando-days slam dunk over Bynum? Anyone have a clip.

That was the SICKEST slam of the year, I kept laughing for like half an hour later after the fact, and Marv Albert cracked me up on that play. :D

I'm pretty sure Bynum was running his mouth first. It seemed like 2 days after the draft he compared himself to Shaq, with the exception that he can make freethrows.

That punk kid deserved it. Shaq was 100% right.

Regarding the spin move and dunk made by Bynum, it showed Shaq was just too old. 2-3 years ago it wound never have happened. :(

I would've been much more impressed if Shaq called for the ball and threw down another nasty on 'em rather than throwing an elbow to tha head but hands down that 30 seconds MADE MY DAY :D

Bynum ran his mouth about Shaq on draft day. He said he was the Lakers new Shaq but he could also shoot free throws.
