http://www.bayarea.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/6025529.htm i read this and wondered hmmm.........i'm kind of torn by what would be the better deal.......read the article and tell me your opinions.....
if your too lazy..... heres what it says Shaq to the Houston Rockets for Yao Ming, Cuttino Mobley, Eddie Griffin, Maurice Taylor and extras. Summary: O'Neal loves the town. Lakers view: The best deal for them. Bryant-Yao combo could be dominant immediately. Rockets view: Probably wouldn't do it, but Shaq-Steve Francis duo is worth a thought.
if it were to happen where he comes to Houston, then we would be the writer's description of the Lakers: Two superstars who would fail to coexist. Not only that, it would deplete our bench because we gave away all of our depth. It Shaq were 25 however, that's a different story.
the articles only a week old........i was just wanting to get some feedback on if this trade is being looked at in 5 or 6 months what do yall think would be better for the team.................. p.s (this thread is as relevant as any other thread on this board)
Its not accurate to say Shaq likes Houston either..He played high school in San Antonio and Ive never heard him say anything about liking SanAntonio or Houston. Shaq needs to stay in LA. The Rockets need to stay with Yao.
No, its at least a month. There were a couple of threads about it...pretty long. This guy from the 'mercury news' basically stole this info from the espn pages it was on then.
zz........this was Tim Kawakamis' article not mine........after thinking about it .....i wouldnt do it ...1st)shaqs old........2nd)ming's too good and too young to trade.....he has to much personality and charisma......3rd)i dont like punks(which rules out shaq)
ZZ, Shaq actually has a house here. Not sure why though. However, I agree with your take mainly because with Shaq's bulk/weight, he is getting to the point in his career where he will be injury prone. Heck, I would not be suprised to see him retire after another season or two. Yao has 15 years ahead of him. If Shaq and Kobe couldnt get it done this year, then there is no way Shaq and Francis could next year. I am patient. I am willing to wait 3 or 4 more years for Yao to develop and watch the titles roll in.
He was just trying to find something that would work salary wise. There is no way that Rox management would pull the trigger on this one.
I heard this trade over the radio today. It is just a joke trade. But what team would want to take on Shaq's remaining salary and his declining game?
DON'T BRING FAT SHAQ !!!! (sorry, but I definitely dislike him) Yao will be better than Shaq in a couple of years...
