His big toe hurts, so Shaq's gonna sit out the all star game. Good, Brand deserved it anyway.....

    The News
Shaquille O'Neal will sit out the NBA All-Star game because of arthritis in his right big toe, according to the Associated Press. O'Neal, who missed Wednesday's loss to the Bulls, was replaced on the Western Conference team by Elton Brand. O'Neal missed last year's All-Star game with an inflamed arch on his right foot.

    Our View
Great news for Brand, who will play his first All-Star game in this, his third season. It's also great news for O'Neal's fantasy owners, as rest is exactly what he needs in order to come out and play well in the second half. Although, he may need more than one week of rest for this serious problem.

Well, at least Shaq won't be clogging up the middle hogging the ball.

god damn brand should not have been a replacement at all. He should have mad the team straight up. (How the **** did that @$$ jockey Karl Malone make it?!) Good for Elton though making the all-star team in a conference stacked with power forwards.

Bigger question now is who will replace VC for the east? that injury did not look pretty at all. Big Dog?

IMO, the East should take the next leading vote getter and add him to the team. That would be Grant Hill, who was leading Antoine Walker until the very end. Fans wanted to see him and if he were healthy, he easily would've made the team.

Then, since Hill is out for the year, add Ben Wallace, quite possibly the most underrated player in the entire NBA. If the East is looking to win the game, having a player like Wallace - a deserving all-star - would help immensly.

KMart stats are about as good as the stores financial statements these days if KMart could make the all-star game this year than Mo Taylor should have been there last year. Look it up.
