This is not a chilish statement. It is simply stating the fact. I am not saying Shaq thinks he's not good enough for the match-up, but he is scared to get embarrassed by Yao since he's not at his full strength. Although he did have better stats, but I personally think those three quick blocks by Yao at the beginning of Shaq/Yao I are Shaq's worst experience this season. He obviously doesn't want to repeat that due to injury. We Rockets fans need to stop worrying about how Shaq is gonna embarrass Yao. Shaq himself is worried about getting embarrassed. Once you back down from a challenge, that means something.
actually, on jim rome today a chick from houston called in a said that shaq was scared of yao. I expected rome to blast her, but he actually agreed. He said Kevin Willis made him look bad the other night and that he probably didn't want yao to make him look bad on national television.
Put it this way, the better question is this: "Yao is NOT scared of Shaq. How does this make Shaq feel?"
