It's already happening. Shaq did not start in today's game against Philadelphia due to a minor injury. Surprise Surprise! They lost.

He is listed as day to day.

Hopefully, he will be healthy by the time Yao visits.

Shaq has become very content to nurse injuries in the regular season over the past few years. He doesn't care. The best example of this was when he waited to undergo surgery (on his toe, I believe) until training camp because he felt that an injury that occured "on company time" should be fixed "on company time." The Lakers LOVED that one.

And yet the heat will play better now, Zo has consistently been better than Shaq for a while. Shaq's offensive game has gone down substantially while providing subpar defense. At least Zo gives you a top-notch shot blocking presence and overall solid defense.

I noticed this the other day but Shaq has only played in more than 80 games in the regular season twice and those were his first two in the league.

For his career, he has averaged 62 games a season.

The sad attitude that led him to make that decision is what led to the end of his Lakers career. Buss and the Lakers brass never forgave him and it helped inflame Kobe's feelings about him. It was the ultimate selfish decision.

surprise surprise, man shaq is old. Yao is the best center in the leagaeu ( i dont know how to write this word ) right now and shaq well you have to guard him, but he isn't that good anymore.

I'm so glad that I didn't pick Shaq. He was available in the 2nd round and I picked Chauncey Billups over him because I figured Chauncey would play more. Looks like that was a good call.

    lol...

many people bet shaq over yao on their fantasy league, the reason is they think yao could hurt him again. :D

    how ironic.

Shaq doesn't have any lesson to learn. He's done this for years and still wins championships so he doesn't see any need to change. It's still not professional, but the least he could do is overcome his 'injuries' during home games for the fans that help pay his fat paycheck.
