Yao will get his ass kicked by Shaq, i don't mean to sound so negative, but this is the same guy that got pushed around by Theo Ratliff in Atlanta. Add to the fact that Yao is fatigued, has a bummed knee and Shaq is pissed b/c of the All-Star game and the media accusing of him being a racist..... it doesn't look too pretty :( .

How exactly does a knee become "bummed"?

No. He won't. The Earth always survives Godzilla in every movie, and the world is always the better for having met the challenge.

Who doesn't Shaq destroy??? He demolishes EVERYONE. You are not saying anything NEW!! But Yao will get some shots in on Shaq due to his skill and finesse.

It is not Yao's responsibility to defend Shaq. It is the entire TEAMS job. Rudy needs to send Eddie G to and the guards to double Shaq just like what the Celts did to Yao. Lets make Fisher, Fox, Horry and Samaki Walker beat us.

    Yawn.

Shaq will get his dunks...some of them nasty.

Yao will put a couple turnarounds in Shaqs face. He may even pull out his "Shanghai Shake".

Yao may or may not get in foul trouble. Shaq will shoot bricks from the free throw line.

I expect Shaq will outscore Yao. You know what? I don't care. Yao will continue to find the open man and get him the ball.

They'll play the game. One team will win. One will lose. Then they'll meet again 2 more times in the regular season and we'll talk about it again.

    Yawn.

Old News! Stop talking about it!

The only Rocks-Lakers game I worry about is Yao's second match-up against Shaq... Yao's famed for releasing his vengance during the second matchup (ex. Pacers, Spurs, Mavs, Magic - and I believe he will make Marbury pay for making him fall during the Suns game)

Yao will not be able to out-match Shaq for the first game, end of story...

If the rockets win and yao has an average game then yao has already won no matter how many points rebounds and blocks shaq gets

What's odd is that last year in the finals vs. Todd M., he said that after playing him he thought that he was "respectable" opponent. Respectable? Considering how bad Todd really is, if he says anything worse after playing Ming, you know Shaq is just full of it (not that he can get much fuller than he is now...)

What game were you watching? Yao gets pushed around, yes, but is almost as often due to not enough agressiveness on his part as to his inability to push back - as Ratliff can attest to. Yao will be very high for this game, so I expect him to be agressive.

I agree. It's stupid to predict "Shaq is gonna destroy Yao". We all know that will be the case anyway. It's going to be a learning lesson for Ming.

What's the point to make a prediction that 'a 10 years veteran with 3 rings is gonna destroy a rookie'?

I predict that Ming plays his best game of the year; he has a pattern of rising to the occasion. He may still get outscored, but I think he will be more aggressive than ever.

Atleast we arent talking about Cato vs.Shaq. I agree the whole conversation is way overrated. It will be won by the best team which is the Rockets. I hope the Lakers pound the ball into Shaq and Kobe gets caught up in the Yao vs. Shaq spectical too.

The real problem will be Kobe not Shaq

I hope Ming puts up respectable numbers up. More importantly I hope we win. Yao should be able to keep his game going, I expect him to do at least alright.

He does seem to be able to step up to the challenge, but we'll see. Good luck to Mr. Dynasty.
