Looks like Shaq is buying a home in the new Rodeo Palms community just south of Houston on 288. Does he know in advance of a pending trade to the Rockets??? Ok maybe I'm high on crack again... http://houston.bizjournals.com/houston/stories/2002/08/05/story3.html
Manvel? I've been to Manvel, and that is a hick town if I've ever seen one. I figured Shaq to be more of a River Oaks type of guy...
What's the deal with basketball players and Houston? They either want to live here or they want to play here.
I've always wondered why 288 South wasn't more developed. It has easy access to downtown Houston, a freeway that isn't congested like I-10 West, 59 South, or 45-North, and has a ton of land that sits idle. I'm not sure what the attraction to Houston is either, other than having a critical mass of sports athletes living here, low taxes (no state tax), low property values, cultural diversity, access to water (lakes/Gulf), and access to major airports. Well, I guess I just answered my own question.
Texas has no state income tax, hence players often buy homes here to set up residencies in the state, or something like that.
What else is new! Shaq's parents had a property here in olympia lake ever since and I'm not surprised to hear that Shaq wants to live here in Houston, besides he is used to humidity and heat.
I read a report on a Chinese website that Shaq is investing hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate all over U.S. People start to call him the big landlord.
man shaq has had a house here in houston for the longest time. he lives out here in sugarland!! his girlfriend is form houston hence his summer visits here...he aint becoming a rocket...
one of his baby's mamas lives in on the Mo City/SugarLand edge. She's pretty hot, but a little too high maintenance. Wastes sooooooooo much money, but it's shaq money, so it's infinite. you know, even though I do agree with the kobe haters to some extent that kobe is arrogant. But he seems to be much more mature than shaq in terms of normal adulthood: married, not making rap records, not acting like a big kid all the time, etc.
I have a family friend that lives down the street from Van Exel and Cuttino. Van Exel's house is two houses connected by a tunnel, there is also an underground tunnel too (you know, incase he has to escape to his other mansioin)
Shaq owns a condo in the Galleria area as well. Same building as Kevin Willis. What would you do with all that jack? I can't figure out what to do with the little we have!
Shaq's baby mamma lives in sweet water in sugar land right next to the main entrance....I swear that guy is mormon b/c he has 18 wives! Anyway, her house is phat as hell. Must be nice to live off of Shaq for the rest of your life! Whatever!
Let's turn this thread into a Let's stalk NBA and other profesional players thread. You say where they live, and I and others will be out there with our cameras pointing and clicking away.
OK, so the houses are built along the golf course? What if somebody shanks a ball and it goes sailing through your living room window? I'll be damned is somebody is going to try and swing a pitching wedge anywhere NEAR my TV!
that's when you buy a 20-30 foot net and install it in your backyard!! Some houses along TPC in the Woodlands, have those!
