What do you think? For me he is the best dunker in the game now. He makes it look so easy and he is damn small.

The problem I have is that he is great at dunking on people. But I am not sure about dunk contest. But he sure will be fun to watch.

Shannon Brown deserves to be in the dunk contest IMO. Hopefully Lebron joins him.

As long as he doesn't use Jason Maxiell as a prop.

So far the Dunk Contest looks like Nate Robinson, Lebron james, Shannon Brown, and Demar Derozen

I'm a little tired of Nate though.

Nate and Shannon have the same physical attributes though, although Brown is a tiny bit taller.

This might be weird, but I wanna see Dwight Howard again.

No homerism here, but I also want to see Budinger in the contest. He can get pretty high off the ground.

    You're kidding, right?

    6'4" vs. 5'9"

That's the same as saying Kevin Garnett is a tiny bit taller than Ray Allen.

Plus, as dunkers they are completely different. Brown is a one-foot leaper that covers a lot of space horizontally while Nate is exclusively a two-foot leaper that has to gather and take off fairly close to the rim and can't palm the ball. Now that I think about it, they're like polar opposites in terms of dunking style.

But anyway, last week I found myself considering the prospect of Shannon Brown in the dunk contest and I wasn't quite sure if I liked it. I still don't. He jumps like a jack rabbit, but I've never seen him do anything particularly creative, even in the McDonald's All-American dunk contest.

I think J-rich should enter. He's a little bit older now but I think he's still got the goods to compete. He has the perfect combination of power, grace, finesse, smoothness and creativity.

He actually doesn't dunk on people that much, i mean, his best dunks don't really involve others. He can make simple dunks look great, much like Francis did. He get's really high with out much effort....i've love to see him take off from the FT

I wouldn't put him in the dunk competition, he's not very creative when he's in the air. He's a good game time dunker.......

Havn't seen Shannon Brown highlights too often, don't know if he has the showmanship skills.....

If you are trying to post an image from another website: right click the image, pick properties, copy the URL address....then when replying to this thread paste on the "image insert" script prompt that you will find as one of the quick tool buttons.

If its a image you have on your hard drive, then you need to upload it first (to hosts such as imageshack/tinypic/photobucket), it'll give you a URL address that you can copy/paste as per above.

    Hope that helps.

...and Nate Robinson is 5'7" and 3/4 without shoes.

Everyone's heights are inflated for "official" listings...generally between 1 and 1.5 inches.

So yeah, I'll buy that Shannon Brown is actually 6'2" without shoes. Sounds reasonable...but that still puts him over 6" taller than Nate. That is in no way "a tiny bit" taller.

What is the fascination with all the new age power dunkers? LeBron, Shannon, Dwight Howard... all these guys will jump as high as possible and try their best to break the rim.

That's not what the dunk contest should be about. Michael Jordan, Vince Carter, J-Rich, Dr. J, Dominique... all these guys were finesse dunkers, and that's why the contest used to be something memorable. Now it's a fancy gimmick show, bring back the real ballers!

Yeah, the Slam Dunk contest has really just diverted more to presentation rather than the actual dunk itself...

Dominique was a power dunker through and through.

He was a power dunker who could pump fake like no other (as well as improvise in the air), so he doesn't fall into the monotonous category of the new age dunkers aside from Iggy. Iguodala is a fantastic throwback dunker, especially with his one hand dunks.
