Videos like this show why players like Marcus Camby actually win DPOY.

All they care about is blocks, steals and rebounds.

Frankly, I think this does nothing to showcase Battier's defensive prowess.

To the average NBA fan who doesn't watch Shane on a nightly basis, you're not going to see why he's a great defender, and this video doesn't help.

#5 and #4 are the only entertaining plays, in my opinion, and #2 wasn't even a defensive play...

Really, why was #2 even in there? That was kinda random and awkward.

i enjoy much more when he takes a really good charge (quick guy and shane is there light years ahead of him) or when someone is driving and shane gets his hand on the ball super early to cause a jumpball.

Dont trade Shane, it annoys me to hear everybody wanting to trade him.. we can get a good 2-3 to back up as a 6th man.

Shane plays D on likes of AK47, Kobe, Lebron, Pierce... you name it. I cant imagine the Rockets winning if we only score 90 pts and the other team's players are going lights out because nobody can play D on them

Man, I appreciate the recognition they're giving him, but that was horrible. Do they even know anything about Battier's game?

It's his anticipation, staying in front of the offensive player, help defense, quick hands, challenging EVERY single shot, and willingness to take charges that make Battier such an outstanding defensive player. I'd say shot-blocking is last on that list, but they make it seem like he's a pure shot-blocker or something.

No, they DO NOT know what D is. They ONLY know BLOCK and SHOWTIME

I understand that the Rockets need more offense, but we cannot give up a guy with such a killer defensive mindset in any trades this offseason. It would be a horrible decision if the front office decided to gamble with Battier...
