There were a lot of bad threads about Battier. Trading him, hating, bashing. He can't defend, he can't shoot the ball and another crap like that.

First 21 games of the season

    Shane Battier

    8.42 PTS + 4.61 REBS + 2.67 AST + 0.8 STL + 1.42 BLS

    FG% - 41.8
    3FG% -36.5
    FT% - 67.6

Do you have troubles with this Battier now? This is what you call glue guy. He can still do the same. That's why Morey thrown away this peace of crap

If Battier can sign a small contract for us, I'd be happy to keep him a Rocket until he retires.

I'd Be happy to keep him at around 3 Mil a year, still a good player right now, and will always be a good guy to have in the locker room

Resign him for much less and slowly limit his minutes to make him a defensive specialist that only plays to shut someone down. In other words: he doesnt need to play if his defense isnt needed... want him on this staff though..

His season stats aren't going to tell the story you want to tell here...he didnt do well very early on, but has been extremely consistent the last 6 or 7 games, especially from three....those are the stats you should have used

Except for FG%, 3PT%, FT%, Assists, and Blocks.

EDIT: Forgot about Turnovers as well.

Especially with shooting percentages. Oh, he is playing with Chris Paul and shooting less than 30% from 3-point line with four and a half attempts per game? Really? with Chris Paul?

Ariza's having a better year, and is a key component on a 13-7 squad that boasts one of the league's top defenses.

He'll pick it up once Yao gets back (if he comes back).

Yao will help to spread the floor and will give Battier more open looks at the 3-ball.

I think its obvious though, that he's lost a step laterally on defense. But its exposed more because the rest of the defense hasn't played well. Although, its getting better game by game.

I'm liking the direction of this team right now. I still think we're one or two moves away from really making some noise in the WC.

There's one key component on top defensive teams thats missing on ours... shot blocking, and paint clogging. Okafor has been top 5-7 ever year in blocks since his rookie year.

No. He isn't. How many Hornets games did you watch this season?

They are playing on Portland Trail Blazers offensive and defensive playbook. They are Blazers clones. And it was all about defense in Oregon when Monty was an assistant there

    Last 6 games:

    13 of 21 3PT 62%
    24 of 40 FG 60%

    I believe he's also shooting 80% but it's a smaller sample.

Battier is our leading shot-blocker because he has recognized that the team now needs that from him. He is about winning.
