I just had to give props to that save he made, i mean he makes them every game and countless times but this one was nice.

late in the 4th, he is on the floor after a collision, a rebound goes long off yao mings fingers and Battier from basically lying on his stomach, lunges and tips it to Rafer before the ball can go out of bounds.

I'd have to say 80 to 90% of NBA players have that ball go out of bounds on them because they are on the ground and have stopped focusing on the play, or can't think quick enough to make the right move.

If there was a stat for saved possesions shane battier would lead the league he is like money for 3 extra possesions a game, hopefully come playoffs time we can take advantage.

I saw that too and that save is unbelievable, it would be a great save even in a high level valleyball game, very good concentration and response. I just realized that I hardly look at Shane's stat line during a game, why bother?

I remember the bench was up on their feet when Shane made that save. He's such a nice player to have in your team.

I think he was referring to the poll asking if people wanted to draft Yao back in 2002.

On topic, that was a great play. My favorite of the game, with the exception of everything Yao did after the Collison foul. The thing that I loved about that play was that he was lying on his stomach, so he was only able to pop up for the split second he needed to save the ball before falling on his face.

    Shane is so awesome.

Yeah, I was AMAZED by that too. It has to be one of the top 10 plays of the year. And did you hear how hard he fell to the ground afterwards? Ouch!
