Battier played solid defense both nights, not really his fault that Kobe and Monta Ellis were going off.

Lets take a step back, why is Battier, a old veteran SF, even guarding the opposing SG, or perhaps PG? Oh yeah, because Brooks and Martin can't guard Ellis due to their poor defenses. What do you expect when you put a SF on an explosive PG?

Also, Aaron Brooks is a worse scoring version of Monta Ellis. Aaron needs to be aggressive and not look to pass the damn ball.

 

I disagree. Martin and Brooks played him on a few plays and at least stopped him a few times. Battier got torched early and often and thats when the game got out of hand with him.

Finally. Somebody smart enough to realize what happened today.

 

He got torched and then others got torched because thats what happens once a guy is red hot. Then nobody can stop him. Thats ok enjoy all of that Battier goodness for Carmelo and until Ricks hand is forced. With Melo he has a shot at least since Melo is slower and a SF something Battier might be able to handle now. Not SG anymore though.

Battier got put on not just any point, but an incredibly quick point because our own points wouldnt be able to hang with him. If anything that's showing respect for Battier's abilities. Monta proceeded to torch battier, lee, brooks, everyone. It doesnt prove anything in your favor, at all
