"Though Anderson has started every game over the last two years with Houston, he has become little more than an afterthought in the Rockets' offense. He averages 8.8 points -- down from a career-high 12.3 last season -- on an improving, young team that will nonetheless miss the playoffs. " what the? how stupid are they, how can they possibly know right now? ------------------ http://www.democrats.com [This message has been edited by dc rock (edited March 11, 2001).]
That's okay, let the media underestimate the Rockets. They'll just feel really stupid when all of their "expert" predictions go wrong and the Rockets make the playoffs. They're all just a bunch of non-believers. ------------------
This isn't news and it certainly isn't just Utah papers talking about it. Apparently our own Jonathan Feigen himself said the same thing. See slcrocket's post in the following thread from a while back. At least I think that's what slcrocket seems to be saying here : http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum3/HTML/011629.html ------------------ "I was arrested for sexual assault involving an elderly man and I was out in 35 minutes." -- Achebe - programmer by day, geriatric ass grabber by night. I have a good question for you. Would you rather sign Webber/Jackson? or Webber/Anderson? ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
As much as I like Shandon, I would have to go with Webber/Jackson rather than Webber/Shandon... Frankly, it is good to have Shandon on defense, but I really think Langhi needs to start getting more PT, and we need a center much more than we need a SF, since Cato is a total question mark every year. ------------------ "all your base are belong to us!" "you have no chance to survive make your time!"
Webber/Jackson. Definitely. We'll have a pick or two in case we need to fill the void of Shandon (potentially) leaving. Not that he will, if we grab Webber. Not that he will, anyway. Where would he sign? Chicago? Detroit? Clippers? Bu-wa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! That's a good one. (sniff) Oh, God, that's funny. (sniff) Eh-heh. Let Shandon complain about not being on a playoff team THEN. Unless we wind up early bird-ing him and trading him. I don't like the option, if it's an option. Just mentioning it. ------------------
Shanndon and Stackhouse could easily lead Detroit to a 7th spot in the weak East. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
I'd rather have Webber/Anderson. Signing Webber/Jackson won't help us at all - why would we need 2 PF's ? Check the way Marc Jackson plays, he's not a center and he's definitely NOT an intimidator. I''d rather have a great defensive SF who's played here for years than a PF playing at C... ------------------
I'd rather not bank on Langhi turning into a decent player. He looks like CBA material to me. Webber-Dream is the signing I want. With Shandon signing early bird. ------------------ Re-elect President Gore!
Shandon will opt out to clear space. The Rocks can resign your own FA w/ no regrds to the cap. Luxury comes into effect, but thats LA's problem. I see him getting 4.5 or our veteran singing. Next year we have his superBird right. Seems to make sense. ------------------ "Chucky who? I thought we were talking about basketball?" Charles Barkley
Shandon Anderson (G) HOU Anderson plans to leave Houston after the season, opting out of the three-year, $6.6 million contract he signed before the '99-'00 season, the Salt Lake Tribune reports. Straight from the horse's mouth... Those people in Utah are so freakin jealous that whenever one of there players actually leave they talk crap about them until they can come back. ------------------ "I move for no man." --"So be it."
That's just ignorant Salt Lake papers... ignore that garbage. Please try and fix your title next time though-- your title actually made it sound legit. ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." "We want a higher seed. Let's translate: We found out that Shandon is opting out of his way below market value contract, to become a free agent, and that automatically means to those of us who have done no research, that he's leaving the Rockets. Shandon is opting out so that the Rockets can either use their cap space on him, or early bird him. Unrenounced, he counts just .46 million more than if he stayed in his contract, so if that .46 can get him 3 more mill, why not? ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Follow the rules or be assimilated. Shandon is underrated.
I know that this crap but it seems others think I dont know anything about the Rockets. Hell I know how much The Rockets brass like Shandon. But I was just pointing out how ignorant The Salt Lake City media are. ------------------ "I move for no man." --"So be it."
