Well first EP that wasn' recorded in my living room anyhow.

Its called Cardiology and we have it up on Amazon. I recorded with my friend Sonia last summer in a studio down the street from up here in Chicago. She handles vocals, I played guitar, bass, and keys and our producer did the drums for us. I'm really excited about how this came out -- we wanted some the neo soulish and came out with something close to that, but kinda indie-popish as well.

Anyways, sharing the excitement and shamelessly self promoting. You can catch us on Facebook!

I like the groove of the music, but the vocal seems overpowering to me. I also like the uniqueness of her voice, but unfortunately I don't think her vocal talent quite matches it.

    Overall pretty impressive though.

Chick's voice is over powering at times. Almost to the point of being annoying.

Music is nice though, new genre to me.

i have to agree w/ some of the others - music is cool - good mix - nice arrangement/song - but the voice is too much - she can obviously sing, but she doesnt have enough control over her voice to be floating around the melody the way she does. she ends up sounding too 'whispy' and hiccup-y at times, if that makes sense.

i listened to apa, pathetic and stars - i didnt hear anything other than voice, acoustic and light keyboard - were these the right mixes?

    Thanks everyone for the feedback!

Yeah, she's definitely still maturing as a vocalist but she's young (24) and I think her control will improve as she gets more experience.

The only two cd tracks we have streaming on our Facebook page are "Apa" and "Pretty Song", on the ReverbNation widget along the left panel of the page and under the My Band tab. The rest of the stuff under the music tab are demo recordings we recorded in my apt.

    That's the goal.

Thanks again y'all. Keep it comin'!

vocals seem mixed too up front and harsh in the quieter songs. maybe drench her voice under layers of echo and reverb in those ones? her voice seems to work in the songs where the music is busier.

I like the vocals. I have alot of respect for those who create art.

How come you didn't set up a Myspace Music page? It was a little hassle having to click through more than two links to access the sample tracks. Although most people don't use Myspace for the social networking aspect anymore, their Music division is very strong and alot of listeners and album/record labels browse those Myspace Music pages for new acts and are exposed to new artists in that manner.

I was trying to be all ahead of the curve on the Facebook, heh. We actually do have a myspace, I just haven't updated it yet.

Just up the street on Lawrence and Ravenswood.
