    Yes, and it really crippled our chances of moving up. You can't trade a player not under contract, and Shandon knew that. Shandon would have been valuable trade bait.

    I think that is a very good hypothesis. If the Rockets don't want him anymore, at least he'd be able to control his fate on who he played for next.

    I think Behad was mistaken in his blank post, here.

    Seems like a plausible idea. Anderson's agent (Satan) knew that the Rockets wanted to move up. Likewise, he'd want Anderson to control his own destiny. So he opts out.

    If Anderson had remained, KT and Anderson + picks would have made at least a semi-sweet deal. Not great, perhaps... but worthy of the #6, maybe.

    Of course, I think it's more LIKELY that Anderson simply wants more money. But the idea isn't that far-fetched.
