this has been a major problem for us..hope TWill can address this area of need..hope we can ship Battier and/or Bud to other contributing pieces.

Durant is too athletic for Battier now. However, he is still the best option for us to guard Durant.
If Yao come back, we'll be much better against teams of Thunder type.

That depends on if he's still being babied or not. Also don't expect T. Will to come in and save the day. As a matter of fact, i expect him to have bad shooting nights early and pick it up right before the all-star break. His defense will be the main thing that keeps him on the floor early.

Don't expect Terrence Williams to rectify inconsistency problems.

No complaints about CLee's play the last few games, he has really gotten past the early days when he was just lost.

But when we don't have any answers for Durant like in this game, then, yes, I miss Ariza--another long body who we could have thrown against elite perimeter scorers.

T-Will won't solve the inconsistency issue, now.

T-Will is more inconsistent than Battier and Budinger. At this point, he can't even consistently get up to make it to work for practice.

It will take at least another season or two for him to improve his shooting and other issues.

Not to contradict your post are insinuate you are an idiot but mark my words, Terrence Williams will contribute this season. T-Will does everything better than Bud except supposedly shoot. But that's a myth that's easily disputed. Bud is shooting 28% from behind the arc. T_will has a career 33% 3pt shooting average. The one thing the Rockets offense does is create open 3's. T-Will's 3pt % will go up. You only need look at Williams teammate last year, CLee. Lee averaged 34% last year and is now at 51%. Expect T-Wills 3 pt percentage to rise here in Houston.

If T-Will does everything else better than C-Bud already it is just a matter of grasping the offense and defensive schemes. The latter being the more dificult. But remember he doesn't have to be great at it right away. He just has to be better than Bud. That could happen in a couple of weeks.

Hey I am big Bud fan so I am not trying to bash him. Just the fact or what they are. Bud hurts us on defense and his offense is either poor or inconsistent. I am convinced he will get his 3 pt shot back to the high 30's again. But he is the odd man out on a weak defensive team and I think Bud's minutes with the team are on the way down. Which makes him trade bait and if there is a taker out there we should do the deal now before he is sent to the DL.

Wait, so you are using TWill's career 3pt shooting and Cbud's seasonal shooting to make a point? Why not use their career shooting numbers to make a real comparison.

Agreed, competition is healthy, may the better man win.

I agree he is a poor defender, and when his offense is not working, he slumps his shoulders.

I am not convinced that TWill is any better though, that remains to be seen on the floor.

    OMR,

I believe TWill will be better than Battier and Budinger this season. That's not saying much since there has been a huge issue with consistency in both players including injuries.

Consistency is not dependent on an average. It's maintaining good performance through out the game and game to game. Many streaky players have good averages.

For example, we have a consistency issue at SG also. Martin(I like the guy) is one of the most inconsistent 20+ pt players from quarter to quarter. Every game he goes on a hot streak and knocks down 15-25 pts on fantastic shooting in the first half. Martin is streaky as hell. By the 4th quarter, he is struggling to make his shots and the other team goes on a major run.

Can you provide an example of a consistent steady player to compare him to? Don't start naming other streaky and inconsistent players. :)

TW is going to have practice VERY well in order to break into the rotation. When Gerald Wallace was a young player had trouble grasping Ricks system and did not get a chance to show what he could do.

Williams will suffer the same fate as James White and Gerald Green if he does not buckle down and put in the extra time outside of practice as well to really show he is ready to contribute.

If he is smart he should go stay Lee while he gets used to things instead of staying in a Hotel.
