    Rockets can't get #3 or #4? How about #6?

    Interesting find, Deuce... thanks.

I know the Rockets had significant talks with the Warriors last summer... would be interesting if this brings that back up. I doubt one of the key bigs in the top 4 falls to 6, but there are others that definitely could be interesting there.

Yeah, I think there is a much greater chance of getting some traction on #6 than getting into the top 4. And since the Warriors have some "bad contracts" they might consider off loading one for a #6 for #14 swap. Rockets have already been on record as saying they are willing to "take on salary."

As long as the "key" assets (intended for a Bosh deal) aren't moved, I think Morey would consider. Just depends on the contract. And also depends on who is on the board. Cousins and Favors will be gone then. But if we are high on Wesley Johnson, he might be there.

That said, the Warriors could shop that #6 to a number of teams want to moving up such as the already mentioned Blazers and the Spurs.

Is Anthony Randolph still being pursued, or is this strictly about the draft pick?

I am sure any deal Morey makes, he will try to maximize his return. So if Randolph could be "tacked onto" a deal, I am sure Morey will attempt to do it. The more quality assets we ask for from the Warriors, the more "bad contracts" will will have to accept in return. So really Morey has to figure out all the chess moves down the road on what to do with those contracts.

I know the Warriors are up for sale, would lessening their guaranteed salaries on the books make them more desirable. Those are key issues.

Anthony Randolph and Brandon Wright could be some pieces Morey wants.

Yeah true, but some of the Warriors contracts are real long... Maggette until 2013 and both Ellis and Biedrins until 2014. They seem light though compared to Elton Brand's deal (18+ million in 2013... yikes). None of those deals are "gut it for a year" like Jared Jeffries, Jackie Butler or Justin Reed but all the Warriors players are rotation-worthy guys.

Most likely it's all about Jordan Hill ... I'm sure he's opening a lot of doors for the Rockets.

Yeah, those are some long deals. Hill is the key piece. I am sure the Warriors would have interest. But to me, Hill is a key piece in the Bosh deal. So I can't see Morey moving Hill unless he knew he was getting a key piece back that Toronto wants.

J-Hill +14th pick+ one of the knicks picks for 6th pick+ Anthony Randolph.

With the 6th pick the Rockets can get Aminu, Udoh, Aldrich, Monroe, or Ed Davis. Maybe Wes Johnson or Cousins.

You might be able to make that trade. But to me that kills any Bosh trade. I am not sure Morey is going to throw in the towel on that.

hmm..i'm lovin that 6th + Randolph deal...if Morey is really willing to take back salary, swap Randolph with Biedrins..back-up C is solved...and with the 6th, we get Wes Johnson.

Why even trade Hill, do we just not feel like developing players anymore? He has all the tools to make a great big man.

Yeah, he'd have to know pretty clearly that he's not getting Bosh before making a move like that -- or that other things would be enticing to the Raps.

Not sure what to make of Randolph ... seemed like he was going to bust out last year. Real potential with his size and mobility but I wonder if he's ever going to be a real post presence. I like his shot block numbers...

I see Randolph as an athletic Lamar Odom. Randolph has nice handles for his size. I think he is more of the new breed "combo-forwards" we see more of these days like Josh Smith and Lamar Odom. So is he a 3 or a 4? He really is skinny and am not sure he can put on enough weight to be a full time 4. I think he is more of a 3.

I do not think Hill or Randolph will develop to be better than Bosh is right now. If the Rockets want to take a chance on a young guy over Bosh, I think Derrick Favors is the guy.

With the 6th pick the best the Rockets can get is Johnson, Cousins, or Aminu.

if the top three is like this:
    1.Wall
    2.Turner
    3.Favors

..I've read that Minnesota will choose between Cousins or Wes Johnson @ #4.
if Wes Johnson is the 4th pick, the Kings (#5 pick) are going to choose either BPA- Demarcus Cousins or a SF (which they need), then they go with Aminu.

I remember earlier in the season Morey tweeted that he was at the Wake Forest-UNC game. Maybe he's intrigued by Aminu.

What would we give them, just expirings? I know they gave alot of the guys form that series against the Mavs ridiculous extensions.

I don't know the complete reasoning for trading Hill for another unknown. Unless Morey thinks highly of the top tier bigs in this draft and how they'll be able to contribute immediately this season.

I see him being moved for an All Star or established player. I even would stay with Hill for now instead of getting Randolph.

But say the Rockets could trade Hill + the 14th pick + one of the knicks' picks for the 6th and Randolph, would you do it?

    I would because the 6th pick + Randolph > Hill + 14th pick + a future 1st.

If Cousins or Wes Johnson fall to the 6th pick, the deal is even better.
