These are all sex offenders that have been convicted...

...and this is just the area inside loop 610

This info comes from Texas Department of Public Safety Sex Offender Search. I strongly recommend that you plug your address into their search engine and see the results.

About half of them have risk levels of "unknown." THAT is scary!

Last time I checked, there were about a dozen in my zip code...all were convicted for things having to do with underage girls. That's just nasty....

"You do all you can to keep your kids safe, but they're still in danger. Sex offenders in the classroom. Find out if your child's classmate is a pervert. Next on Eyewitness News".

I really didn't know they allowed sex offenders in class with regular students.

Why is it that the southwest corner -- Bellaire, West U, etc. -- have so few?

I am sure the area just across Bissonnett (Gulfton area) more than makes up for it.

There are two convicted sex offenders living in my apartment complex in Plano. One in the same building as me who apparently just moved in a couple of months ago.

It's interesting that, when I moved in, they made a big point about doing a criminal background check on me. Why do the check if you still let convicted child rapists move into the complex?

    mrpaige.. yeah that is strange.

I wonder what exactly are the laws.. if someone has served there time etc can they still legally be kept out of apartment buildings etc and out of jobs. Im guessing probably so since places ask about the background etc ..

There's one near my house apparantly and one lives on the same street behind the local elementary school, though his house is not exactly back there, it's far too close. There's also another one within walking distance of the school. All 3 of these guys are high risk. Don't these guys have to get your signiture or something before they move in?

Good lord, the guy who lives next to the elementary school assaulted a 5 year old girl, what a f*cking monster:mad:. How can this guy be allowed to live next to a school?

We just moved into a neighborhood in a suburb north of Charlotte about 2 months ago. We found out shortly after moving in that there was a convicted sex offender (under age girl) that lived a street over and that the bus stop was RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS HOUSE!!!! We have a 6 year that rides the bus and so that pissed us off big time that the school would allow it. My wife called the district and they did not want to move the bus stop. My wife is not someone to piss off or just blow her off. She called every news station and newspaper in the area and when they started calling the district they decided that it would be a good idea to change the bus stop. What assholes.

Apparently only the high risk offenders who were convicted after 2000 have to notify the neighbors (by postcard) upon moving in to the neighborhood. At least that's the rule in Texas, apparently (I was looking it up last night since I was not notified that a covicted child molester was sharing a building with me).
