So I'm going on nearly 72 hours now without sleeping. I've had this really bad sinus cold or something for a while, and a few days ago it evolved into a coughing cold. So night before last I got almost no sleep because I couldn't stop myself from coughing in bed, and I think I threw something out in my back. Last night, on top of the coughing, I've had this unbelievable back pain that makes it impossible to do anything, including lie down or sit! I'm dying because I feel like I really need a chiropractor or something, but who's going to be open on New Years Day AND a Sunday? Anybody ever had something like this happen before? I'm afraid I might have dislocated a rib or something. I seriously have no idea what to do but continue to sit around miserable until monday morning. Can I realistically go another night without sleep? UGH!
Time to find out what your co-pay for the ER is... I'd go just to get a quick x-ray and see what a real doctor has to say before trying to go the the chiropractor.. Good luck man, hope you feel better..
I had "walking pneumonia," and badly pulled a muscle from prolonged, severe coughing. Of course, my back was screwed already, so this was icing on the cake. Where in your back is it bothering you? Depending on where the pain is, you could be having pain in your kidneys (not good), for example. You need to get checked out, before this turns into something worse. Good luck!
