Set the TIVO.. ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Premiere MONDAY 9-18-05!

I don't think I've anticipated the return of a freakin' TV show more than AD season 3. I'm even more hyped than when season 2 arrived, b/c it looks like its finally catching on with the masses.

 

Class at 7. Note to wife-- Tape it or divorce.

 

I'm so freaking happy that its coming back in just one week. I watched the season finale yesterday on tivo and even though I knew what was going to happen, I was still laughing my ass off.

I'm also happy that they got out of the dreaded Sunday night time slot, where the show would always get off schedule because of the football games, and then the baseball playoffs.

Its the best show on television not on HBO... and frankly, I wish it could be on HBO because a lot of the material could really be expanded upon that's held back by the censors.

 

See, I think the fact that they have to try and work around the censors with their innuendo and bleeping out curse words is what gives it a lot of its charm.

Frankly, I think it would lose a LOT of its comedic value if they could be blunt and forthcoming with their humor.

 

Yea... true... the first time they bleeped out somebody cursing, I nearly lost it.

But... after awhile, it gets old... and they would still be able to use the same innuendos, they'd just have more subject matter to deal with. Plus, I'm not talking strictly curse words and sexual aspects... its everything, including their political views.

I guess I just enjoy HBO enough to know that they'd find a way to make it twice as funny (whereas Fox decides simply to cut down the episode # last year... which they spoofed perfectly in their episode).

I had similar reservations when I first heard about CYE on HBO... but Larry David was able to pull that off spectacularly to the point that Seinfeld is almost ruined for me.

The spoof on the cutback of episodes was amazingly funny. It just sucks that many people probably didn't catch that.

What channel is this on? Is this a new show you Yankees have?

 

Pretty weak they are puting it on Mondays against football this year.

 

9-18-05 is not monday but Sunday...

 

It comes on Mondays at 7 CST which is perfect timing because MNF starts at eight with tonight being an exception because of the Giants/Saints game which starts at 630.

 

Yea... it'll be a perfect lead-in BEFORE MNF on normal weeks.

Its recording right now... can't wait to watch it later.

LOL, a joke a minute, I love this show. Did anybody else catch the "that's not a Volv-O" joke when Lindsay handed michael the photocopy instead of the volvo picture.

Both jokes throughouly disgusting and hillairous at the same time.

 

Good episode, but not great by AD's standards. Part of the problem is this show's storyline is so serialized, I had trouble remembering everything that had happened up until this point. I was really confused early on when it was mentioned that Gob had a son. Thankfully later on it was revealed that this was a new subplot for Season 3("Steve Holt!").

BTW, Kitchen Confidential sucked ass! I think I'll be ditching Xander's show and giving Willow's series a try next Monday instead.
