Since last night I have noticed that I am having a SERIOUS skipping/memory problem with my computer.

Everytime I move the mouse or play a music file or do anything it STUTTERS, SKIPPS, LAGS, SLOWS down siginificantly.

My memory meter says my computer has 50% free resources and I check my task bar and I do not see anything unusual.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? I ran my Spybase Spyware Program and Ad-Ware and I think I eliminated all the spyware.

So why is my computer dragging so much? When I play a music file for example the whole song just kind of drags, skips, stutters to the point where I cant listen to it. EVen as I am typing and moving my mouse right now it has a noticable delay every second or two.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem? What are some potential reasons for this problem? How can I identify it?

    Please help!

if this just started happening.. I would run a virus check. also see if dllhost.exe is running in your process.

I agree, first thing to do is run your anti virus. Then check up on what you might have installed.

Low disk space on your operating system drive (most likely C drive if you have windows) would make your computer lag.

It is not low disk space.

As of this moment my Norton Antivirus expired and I do not have a full version virus check anymore.

Is there anywhere I can get a free one?

    Try this site, free scan.

    http://www.trendmicro.com/en/home/us/enterprise.htm

I was having the same types of problems you're having and I finally d/led the adware program, used trend micro, and got cleaned up and everything is fine. I kept having to reboot because my system resources were low even though they weren't according to my meter. I couldn't even open webpages sometimes, freakin pissed me off I tell ya.

I'm going to take a guess you have the Klez virus or SoBig.

Scan for viruses and run the removal tools.
