I was just looking at some of the past draft recaps on the Clutchcity NBA Draft page and learned that the Rockets selected this guy with their 2nd round pick in the 1997. I didn't really follow the Rockets 1997 offseason, so I hadn't heard of him until now. He's described as a 7'2 sweet shooting big man. What's his story? Did he ever make the team? Did he have any game, any potential? Now that sweet shooting big guys are conducive to the Rockets' offense, do y'all see any chance (I know it's doubful, but I thought I'd ask anyway) that the Rockets might use his services in the near future? ------------------
He came out of UNC-Chapel Hill (same as The Jet). I never saw him get any minutes but I do know that he practiced and traveled with the team. Acording to Clutch's Stats he never played for the Rockets. I don't know what he did after that season. ------------------ ~John~ If you make it idiot proof, they will make a better idiot. He played in a preseason game or two, but nothing in the official season. Not to mention he runs like a tree. ------------------ We need some meat in the post!
SWEET SHOOTING? Please! I think Zwikker has one shot, the jump (I use that word loosely) hook. He was of the Montross mold....slow, big, limited skills. ------------------ HOOP-T Hey Shaq, Acme called, and they want their bricks back!
He wasn't that big. He wasn't even half the size of two sandwiches. He had some fat. Anyways lets just say Serge had a very bad case of the Shin Splints. Basically he practiced with the team and Barkley dragged him around and played jokes on him or used him to play jokes on other people. Anybody remember that shirt Barkley got Serge tp wear about Fran Blinebury? ------------------
rocket...what did the shirt say i think i remember something about a shirt did it say something that can be repeated? ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
All of you, please shut up about Serge. He is Dutch, so I gotta back him! Seriously, though, I bet he's in some European league right now. He was a horrible player...a cheap Rik Smits clone (and Smits is a horror to watch, his game is ugly). The only thing he was good was fueling Chuck's quote machine. I remember he made some sort of joke in regard to running a 100 yard race with Gheorge Muresan. Anyone remember that one? ------------------ Nederland 2000 NBA+stupidity=Brand ROY NBA+common sense=Franchise MVP Houston Rockets Space Center- Not just another ClutchCity.NET clone. serge sucked royally. and i am a huge carolina fan. let me put it to you this way. serge was known for 1 thing when he left chapel hill: giving darvin ham a job in the nba. after darvin hammered one home - OVER serge - thus shattering the backboard in the ncaa tournament, ham had future in the nba. serge had a future in a rest home. ------------------ miles ahead of the rest [This message has been edited by verse (edited May 23, 2000).] [This message has been edited by verse (edited May 23, 2000).]
Lots of baby fat. I ran into a week or two after the draft at trhe DMV on Dacoma. Must have thought he would actually make the team. If he actually lost some weight, added some muscle, he would be a good three sandwiches. ------------------ "You've got 6 fouls, use them well" -Derrick Coleman
