Well, I have finally gotten to my last semester in this MBA program at MTSU. I started back in the Spring of 2001 and had to take 6 prerequisite classes to the program since my major was a technical one instead of a business one. Add to the fact that I was (and still am believe it or not!:p ) working 40 hours, and I felt I could only take 2 classes per semester. Not going in the summers (my decision) has caused this thing to drag out quite a bit, but I finally see a light at the end of this tunnel.

I have made several A's in this program and as long as you have a 3.0 when you finish the program, you can graduate which means I can waste some C's if needed (you can't make more than 2 C's though). So, here I am taking Business Policy and an Access class and I can completely goof around and get C's and still graduate. So, the motivation is lacking. Right now, I have kept up with reading articles and doing homework assignments, but I am finding that I am doing that more by conditioned reflex than anything else.

Anyone else graduating this semester (undergrad, grad school, even high school)? Are you coasting, i.e. afflicted with senioritis like me?

Yep. Growing at an incredible rate. When I got my B.S. in '95, there was probably 30,000 people and 2 very big high schools. Now, the population is pushing 90,000 (counting the surrounding communities just outside the city limits) and 4 very big high schools. Life is good in the Boro.

I'm finishing my undergrad degree this semester after eight freaking long years. I'm working full-time and taking a 6 hour accelerated foreign language class to finish. I hear what you're saying.

The thing that's keeping me motivated is pride and fear of failure. My transcripts are already sent off to law school, so I could pass with a C and it wouldn't matter. But I fear that if I aim for a C I will miss and get a D or worse, which will cost me graduation. Plus, I've got 13 straight hours of As. I want to finish on a high note.

If you haven't gotten any Cs to this point, don't screw it up now. C's in grad school look pretty bad to any future employer you might have. You've worked to hard to risk anything right now. You just need to look at your goals, and figure out how these classes play into those goals, and stay motivated. That, and cut back on the BBS :)

    Right here.

I'm finishing my BS this semester, and I've pretty much phoned it all in.

I'm taking 12 hours, but only 2 of my 4 classes are actually in-class. The other 2 are an internship, and a thesis report.

So i'm getting 12 hours credit, but I only spend 6 hours in class per week.. pretty sweet.

Plus I just got accepted into grad school, so I'm really just coasting towards that next step now that I don't have to worry about it.

Maybe you can get Troy McClure to finish the rest of your classes for you?

Trying to avoid it if I can, but it creeps in. The fact that I'm graduating this semester and accepted a job offer already doesn't help. But I gonna go interview for a part time research position this monday just ot make my schedule more structured which should help me fight of senioritist.

I played a lot of golf at the Old Fort course there in Murfreesboro. I used to live in apartments just up the road in Nashville near the Hickory Hollow mall.

Antioch - that is cool, Faos. Hickory Hollow mall is not what it used to be. If you want to go shopping in Nashville, Opry Mills (where Opryland used to be) is the place to go.

Oh, I hear ya. I'm a freshman in college, as well. I had a REAL bad case on senioritis senior year in high school, and it still hasn't worn off. I'm not nearly as worthless, but I'm still a lazyass about studying/doing homework.

second semester, senior year of high school i was proud of how much i slacked off. i was worried i would keep studying a lot and trying hard, but i made myself just try to get A's instead of going for 100's and i managed to slack off quite a bit. i usually did all my homework during my earlier classes the day it was due and i remember studying for biology tests during my classes beforehand (1st, 2nd, 3rd period + lunch). hell, i stopped reading the chapters or looking at notes, i would just pull out the 5 page study guides and read them over a few times during the first classes and take the tests. i'm not even sure my grades changed from first semester.

unfortunately, i had to try to retain all of the information even though seniors could be exempt from finals b/c they were all AP classes and i wasn't about to throw away the chance to get out of a ton of college classes.

in college, my final semester consisted of 2 hours for senior lab, 6 hours of 2 easy ass business classes, and 1 hour of weightlifting. and after it turned out they graded like bastards in senior lab, i slacked off something fierce and not only lost my 4.0, but managed to get a C in the class. we had a group project due towards the end and i've never seen 3 people just shut it down like we did. no one gave a crap by the end and we turned in something crappy. it was a beautiful semester.

now i'm in grad school and actually have to try again.
