I have watched this man attempt to pitch last season and this one and I have come to the conclusion that it will be detrimental for our team's goal if we continue to send him out every 5th day. I have lost confidence in and I believe Jimmy has as well. Even Jimmy tried sooo hard to allow give get through the 5th inning and he still couldn't throw strikes early.

Jeriome is definitely better than him. Call him back up. But if you don't want to go that route, Pete Munro would be a good option. If that scenario will not work for Hunsicker then lets go for Rodrigo Rosario or Jared Fernandez even though their AAA eras this season are not as Saarloos' AAA.

Saarloos will not work for us now and maybe never. He may not get such an excellent opportunity again. I doubt if he will ever fit in if the other guys I mention plus Carlos Hernadez pan out.

Quit using Zaun to catch these guys. If we let Ausmus catch them, I think they would do much better. Use Zaun to catch Oswalt or Miller, they're veterans so they'll do ok with an offensive catcher.

They are not looking for a quick fix, sending Jeriome down was to solve the problem long term.

Once is an accident, twice is a trend....if he can't cut it by his second call up, it might be best to trade him...

    Astros recall Robertson, option Saarloos

    May 12, 2003
HOUSTON (AP) -- The Houston Astros recalled left-handed pitcher Jeriome Robertson on Monday and optioned right-hander Kirk Saarloos to Triple-A New Orleans.

Robertson was 1-3 with an 8.36 ERA in six starts for the Astros earlier this season. Robertson gave up five earned runs in 6 2-3 innings in one start with New Orleans.

Saarloos gave up 11 earned runs in two starts with Houston earlier this month.

    Great!!!

Is this it for Saarloos then? I like this man and I wish every athlete the best. Best wishing Saarloos.

Intrestingly Saarloos will go back to dominating AAA ball but what does that mean? Will he get another look-in if he keeps maintain his sub 2.00 ERA for the Zyrphers? Next year Rodrigo, Fernandez and Carlos will get back into the mix. Maybe a trade will be in order. But who will be interested in a Saarloos now after his 2 failed sojourns to the big league?

What about Munro? He was somewhat solid last year. mOstly unheralded but he did better than Saarloos and Redding last year. He is doing well in the bull pen this year. I believe Jerry and Jimmy would not want to mess up one of the best bull pen setup in the majors so they will leave Munro there unless Jeriome bums out.

Let me go out on a limb here and say that Jeriome will turn around his season with this second chance. He has great tools and he is a south paw. He will well this time around and I am looking forward to his next start on Friday.
