Denver just released him. Should we bring him in for competition? He's a local boy from jersey village I believe.
I rather have Ryan Torain when he gets cut by the Broncos. I also really like the two undrafted running backs they signed. Young failed his physical and has a serious neck injury that could need surgery. http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_12265202
IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN. HE IS A LOCAL LEGEND. HE SINGLE HANDELY BY HIMSELF, WON TEXAS THE ROSE BOWL. DO IT RICKY AND BOBBY.
If they get him it would finially releave all that anger about not picking the Houston native name Young who went to UT
I like him, but don't we need a big, bruising back to complement Slaton? He's basically a similar style of runner to Stevie.
I agree. You only bring Young in as an insurance policy with the rate Texans running backs go down. The Texans need someone that can push a pile.
the more talent the better! I read the Kubiak expects a lot out of CHRIS BROWN. Now he is a beast. Honestly if he can stay healthy, I love the Slaton- Brown duo.
If only playing in 17 games in the past 3 seasons is being a "beast," then Brown is certainly one. The guy is as injury prone as they come, I just don't want to go into next season depending on him to be our #2 RB. As far as Young, he played very well in the ZBS so I could see Kubiak being interested in him. However... "I thought the Texans might be interested in running back Selvin Young, but The Denver Post is reporting that he's suffering from a herniated disc. Young was waived on Thursday." http://blogs.chron.com/nfl/2009/04/rb_selvin_young_has_injury_iss.html
That's like saying if Tony Boselli can stay healthy, he and Duane Brown can be bookend tackles for the next decade. Gillllllllyyyyyyy????????
All right. That's enough. I would so give you negative rep points if I could for every damn Gilly reference! OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH I AM SO MAD!
Ryan Torain has begun doing treadmill and stationary bike work as he recovers from ACL surgery. He says he's a week away from starting jogging and agility work. Torain has torn his ACL, suffered a Lisfranc injury, and shattered his elbow in the last 18 months. Under a new coaching staff, he's squarely on the roster bubble. Source: Rocky Mountain News I don't think anyone should count on Torian this year.
Cedric Benson could potentially bring more to the table in terms of what we actually need. Neither one is the guy you should want though.
I'm pretty sure all the anger disappeared for most folks when they realized VY is turning out to be a total bust.
Dude signed with the Bengals, not sure why you brought up his name. Being a LonghornFan (shocker?) I would want neither of these two guys either. Too injury prone, and Young is a fumble machine.
Absolutely not. This point is pretty much moot, tho, considering the neck problems that are being reported with Young,
Being a Longhorn fan, I think Selvin at least deserve to take a look at. He's good talent. However, I won't be sad if the Texans don't bring him in. My caremeter is low on replaceable scrubs. I'm still pissed that autodraft gave me Selvin last year, lol
