This is just plain fun and kind of inspiring... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlfKdbWwruY&feature=user
The one giddyup meant to post: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zlfKdbWwruY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zlfKdbWwruY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> AND the RESPONSE "Where the Hell is Matt's Girlfriend?" Some NSFW scenes (the preview screenshot alone is NSFW): Spoiler <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ECoMe8IM3RU&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ECoMe8IM3RU&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I like the older one better. The first shot is breathtaking: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bNF_P281Uu4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bNF_P281Uu4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I love that video. I saw it the day after my sister announced that her and her husband were selling their flat and traveling the world for a few years. The last shot of the original video is of the Fremont Troll, which is a few blocks from where I live.
Hidden in the big mess that is Bolivia, lies a beautiful untapped landscape. (for the most part). My mother is Bolivian, and we have House down there.
I also really like all his videos. It's such a simple concept but very inspiring. It's always been a major goal of mine to go globetrotting once. BTW, he details how he did his trips. His first trip was made by saving up money and quitting his job...it seems like this was a substantial financial sacrifice for him. But his subsequent trips were sponsored because of the popularity of his first video.
If you're gonna watch them - make sure to watch the High Quality versions of them. What an awesome idea!
For me, it's the plain simplicity, joy and universality of the thing. People around the world just smile when they see him... okay, some don't. Too bad for them.
