imagine what is going through the players heads. CD is messing with THEIR team. I just can't believe we gave up so much for Shane. West must have some dirt on Les or CD.
Either the Rockets just pulled off one of the worst one-sided draft day trades ever or there are details yet to be revealed that shows something good might come out of this. At least that is what I am praying for.
As the trade stands now: Rudy Gay (#8 pick) and Stromile Swift for Shane Battier. This particular trade is completely lopsided and I seriously doubt that Morey, CD, Les or Clutch the Bear are naive enough to make this trade. Theres more in the works and it will all reveal itself come July 12th. Obviously trading Swift gives the Rockets a huge hole at the PF position, which means the Rockets are probably targeting key free agents at PF and perhaps at SG or SF. Obviously the Rockets need a starter, got one in Battier, added some dead-eye shooting in Novak (great name by the way) to a shallow bench. The Rockets weren't going solve all their problems tonight, although getting Roy would've gone along way in helping. Rudy Gay is not the right fit for this team and has the potential to be a great player, but the Rockets are going for it now. Lets see how the rest of the offseason plays out.
Everyone is so upset about us trading Gay AND Swift, but I think Swift is one of the whole reasons why we did the trade...it's like finding a taker for Howard and Motay...we found one for a player we did not want. Even the Memphis news is reporting Swift was a throw in to match the salaries. Gay may have "potential", but that 'P' word is getting old...how long have we and Memphis waited for Swift to come close to his "potential"? Battier is the type of player we needed IMO. True he may not be a star scorer, but he could average 12-14 pts in our system by being our 3 pt bomber. He had spurts of strong games last year with Memphis. If he is our 3rd option he would easily avg 14 pts.
we should be happy we got rid of swift...he is completely useless and very overpaid...i think its a good trade...we have a for sure starter, thats what jvg wanted...
Why do you people think everything the Rockets do is a secret. Every other team made their trades known. Just believe it. They screwed up, a nd screwed the fans of a pretty long athletic lineup. Stop pretending like its some half truth and a fairy tale. I know you cant believe they are this stupid, but i hate to tell you that they are.
