Though this may sound strange, a vote for Kobe Bryant and Steve Francis will help Stevie's chances to get voted into the All-Star Game.

Kobe will make it. There is no doubt about that, so any vote that goes to Marbury, Maggette, Gary Payton, Mike Bibby, Steve Nash, or any other guard will add votes to other players that are competing with Steve Francis.

I think Francis is still fragile in his new role and I know he relishes in his All-Star game appearances. If he does not make it, he may feel he has sacrificed too much of his game and is not getting the recognition he deserves as a defensive/playmaker/scorer point guard rather than simply a scoring point guard that over handles the ball. I fear he could regress if he is sitting at home and sees Yao at the all star game.

So be a Rockets fan and Vote for Kobe Bryant and Steve Francis as the Starting Backcourt for the All Star game!!!

How do you know his ego won't become bigger if he get voted into the all-star team? If you think SF will feel he sacrificed too much for the team just because he doesn't make the playoff, well, I will think you has little faith in his maturity.

Personally I don't think SF and Yao deserve the starting job in all-star team this year. They are both adjusting a new system and in the transition to be the great. Just not this year. We will see.

Maybe if Steve doesnt make the All-Star team, it will drive him to be a better player. Not saying that hes not good, but he can get better.

That is fine as well because in all honesty, Cat will not make the all-star team. He ESPECIALLY will not get voted into it.

I just don't want votes going to the Marbury's/Nash's/Payton's of the West that takes votes away from Stevie.

I think every player wants to be recognized and Steve is truly trying to play a more team game this season and I want him to be recognized for it.

Marbury shouldn't make it because his team is 2nd to last in the West this year. I'm glad Baron's not in the West till next year b/c he is going to give Stevie some competition for the Starting PG spot at the All-Star Game.

I see this as the Lineup:

    Shaq/ Yao/ Miller
    Duncan/ Nowitzki/ Rashard
    Garnett/ Peja/ Anthony
    Kobe/ Miller/ Payton
    Francis/ Nash/ Marbury

I don't know why people mention players like Kobe and Maggette. They are not PG's, are they?

Here is my order of PG's in the west:

    1. Marbury I hate him too. But, just look at the numbers.
    2. Nash Without Nash Dallas is a different team
    3. Francis He's still the franchise, period.
    4. Payton He's here only because of his age
    5. JWilliams
    6. Staudemare
    7. Bibby

Last year all the top 3 on this list made it to ASG. They will this year again.

    Here is my guess,

    Voted in by fans
Ming Yao (if he was voted as a rookie, he surely will be there this year)
    Tin Duncan (Best PF)
    Kevin Garnett (Best SF)
    Kobe Bryant (Best SG)
Garry Payton (one of the best PG, but playing for LA doesn't hurt)

    Coaches choice:
    Shaq O'Neal
    Dirk Nowitzki/Peja/Z. Randolph

    Marbury/Francis

Anthony, Nash, Brad Miller all have 50/50 chance to make it.

I believe coaches will pick Marbury & Francis over Anthony & Nash, but there is a high possibility that Anthoby will get voted in by the fans, then Francis will be in trouble since the coaches will pick Payton & Marburry ahead of him.

Because there is no distinction made between PG and SG. They are all under the category "guards".

Just voted for Yao, Steve and Cat. I hope all three become allstars, but Steve and Yao definitely have better opportunity.

I think Francis will be a great starting pointguard but I think payton will make a run for it. If Baron davis and his team is able to maintain their stats then he'll give the franchise a run for it. Right now Yao and Francis are making history in a tough western conference and the team looks like they'll be making the playoffs. Once the Hornets are on our side of the pasture let's see if they can keep up with us. Let's see if they can stand playing against the lakers, spurs, mavericks, jazz, sonics, suns, blazers, and of course the Rockets night in and night out.

    Agreed.

A good player would know what to do. If Francis doesn't make the All-Star Team.. and feels like he is unhappy with playing under Yao than thats just selfish and not a good player to get a team going. But i'm sure Steve has matured now, and I know he wants to win. So this would just make him a better player if he doesnt make the team :)

You don't have to fill the ballot. You can just vote for Steve and leave the rest blank if you feel so inclined.

After all the arguments aside, when voting for the all star game, I think the only pg that is clearly STATISTICALLY better than Francis is Marbury. Every one else scores nearly 3 - 5 points less and even only put up maybe 2 more assist, though most only out assit him by 1 - 1.5. And Francis is out rebounding all of them. For those of you that don't think reboundign is important for guards, I say look at our front line, even with him helping out, we are still giving up a lot of offensive rebounds, I can't imagine what will happen if he doesn't board.

Steve is still a Rockets isn't he? As long as he's a Rocket we as Rocket fans should give him support and vote for him. I'm going to get me some 300 ballots and Vote for Yao, Steve and Cat.

Sorry to break it to ya, but unless SF really picks up, he'll likely sit at home during the ASG. I doubt he'll get picked by the fans this year due to his stats so he likely won't start. The bench players are picked by the coaches who likely won't pick him either. From the very start it was starting line up or sit at home for Steve.

We should let Francis know he can still be an all-star without put up big numbers.
