I sink a lot of money into some very nice season tickets each year.
After this season there are a lot of reasons, some personal, some not, why Im thinking twice about re-newing my season tickets. Rumors of Les selling the team dont help either. If anyone can buy their way out of this mess its Les.

Please dont call me a fair weathered fan. I will always stick by my Rockets and watch them every game, whether it be on TV or at TC. But the reason that I spend so much money for Rockets season tickets is because its from my "entertainment" budget, and this season has been anything but entertaining.

Im pretty sure that we will just downgrade our plan, and see how the crucial off season pans out; McGradys injury, trades, draft picks, etc.

I've heard alot of people talking like this. My father pays about 35 grand a year for his season tickets and he is very unsatisfied with the product. It isn't even the fact they aren't winning, it's the fact that even when they do win, they're boring to watch. He HATES Van Gundy and on top of that, he felt really slighted when his All-Star tickets were on the second level. It does seem ridiculous that a guy can buy season tickets for 20 years at those prices and he gets pushed out of the lower bowl for some celebrity coming in from out of town to be seen.

yeah the style of game he runs for the rockets is so boring ;/ not even worth a 20$ ticket to go uptop to watch ;/

and they really pushed his seat upto the 2nd floor for ASW? thats just wrong ;/ how can they treat a loyal fan like that

To defend the Rockets they had nothing to do with the all star game it was run by the nba.

We spend like 10k a year on our tickets and we do not plan on getting rid of them any time soon but it's not as cheap as my $530 a seat for the entire season for the Texans which btw is on the eight row from the field.

Well my point is I can't handle another year like this and if we don't turn it around I will just get a mini plan that gaurantee's me playoff tickets.

Honestly i dont think its worth buying league pass anymore...I think i'll just d/l the games..yea its gotten THAT bad..and i also second the notion of Van gundy being too one-dimensional...he would be a heck of an assistant coach tho ...

    Count me out!!!

I refuse to pay for JVG's pathetic product.

I have convinced couple others to do the same, and will continue to do so for more.

Boycott the Axis of Evil: JVG + Juwan + Rybo

Make Les hurt where it hurts the most. In his pocket!

I've had Astros season tickets for a few years and absolutely LOVE IT. This year after the Astros great run we went ahead and bought Rocket season tickets. It was awesome after opening day when we beat Sac and it was horrible the rest of the time after that. It's sad what happened to this season & don't know If I'm renewing for next year.

Next thread.... I'm moving from Houston because the Rockets are terrible...

I have season tickets, I've had them for the last 3 years and League Pass, on which I watched every game I didn't go to, I'm not giving them up, I don't even live in Houston!

Sad state of affairs around here...

I've had season tix or mini plans for the last five years. No way in hell am I renewing next year. I will watch their boring ass games for free from home.

Van r****d makes the games absolutely unbearable.

I bought a mini-plan this season because I thought it would be the year. I don't know if I would do it again.

A Rockets Ticket agent had the nerve to call me a few days ago to ask if I would be interested in upgrading to season tickets. WTF? Talk about bad timing. Who do they have running the ticket office? At least wait until after the draft, and after we bring in some free agents before you start asking people if they want to buy season tickets.

    Hmmm...

    35 grand = $35,000 = $426.83 per regular season game = improbable.

    I think he meant $3,500 = 3.5 grand = $42.68 per regular season game = possible.

Well, it might be true if they have like 5 seats a night or something.

Anyways....damn that is expensive. Some people make less than that a year.

Floor seats were $800 per game a few years ago.

    800 * 44 home games = $35,000
Nobody is sitting there by themselves. You are going to have atleast two tix:
    $35,000 * 2 = $70,000!!

Basketball tickets are damn expensive, and I've never understood why. You can get a pretty awesome seat in MMP for fifty bucks and more than decent for fifteen to twenty. Expect nosebleeds for that in the NBA...

    Baseball stadiums sit about 40,000.
Baseball season has 81 home games.

    Basketball arenas sit about 18,000
Basketball season has 41 home games.

Season tix at the MMP for $50:
    $50 a game * 81 home games = Approx: $4000
That's hom much Uncle Drayton is making off of you.

The same type of seats at TC would probably be close to $150.
    $150 a game * 41 home games - Approx:$6000

But remember the baseball stadiums have more then twice as many seats as a basketball arena.

    Yeah, I' bored

    Amen to that......

$35 grrr for season tickets? Now this gjuy has a right to be pissed... ;)

I for one don't blame JVG all that much.......shoot the starting lineupe never gelled the bench guys brought in to take their place couldn't make a jump shot. The players fouled way to much and turned the ball over way to much, you cannot hold the coach accountable for that as I'm pretty certain he is not encouraging it.

It would be one thing if Yao and T-Mac were healthy all year and the other players were the ones getting injured, then this coach hating would have some traction, but seeing how they were both hurt for most of the year and our bench basically had to become starters I just cannot be as critical as some of you.

And why you feel the need to be so childish and call him names is a bit sad. Its one thing to be critical of his coaching, but the incescent name calling is quite juvenille and quite frankly really lowers the standard of the BBS.

Each year I make the financial commitment to my houston sports teams. My dad and I have Texans season tickets, the wife I have an astros mini-plan and rockets miniplan. I say every year, that next year I am not going to do the rockets mini plan and then I do it. I cant justify full season tickets for the Astros and Rockets. it is just too much of a commitment and expensive. But I have to say I will be back, and ready to go come baksetball season next year.

As Rocketman mentioned, floor seats are more expensive than $426.83 a game. My boss has $500 ones. And maybe he meant $35,000 for a pair of season tickets. Which opens up much more where he might be sitting.
