http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-nbarep9apr09,1,1144.story?coll=la-headlines-sports Grant Hill's comeback season is over, cut short by a sore left shin. The Orlando Magic forward has experienced pain on and off since being kicked almost six weeks ago, and Hill's stride recently has been thrown off balance. Hill and team officials worry that if he favors the leg, he could re-injure the left ankle that sidelined him for most of the previous four seasons. Hill averaged 19.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.45 steals this season. He played in 67 games, 20 more than the last four seasons combined. _________________________- Five Indiana Pacer players charged in one of the worst brawls in U.S. sports history, Nov. 19 at the Palace at Auburn Hills, will be tried separately in Rochester Hills, Mich. Judge Lisa Asadoorian granted the players' request for separate trials on misdemeanor assault and battery charges so they would not be called as complaining witnesses at the same trial in which they are defendants. Lawyers for the five — Ron Artest, Jermaine O'Neal, Stephen Jackson, Anthony Johnson and David Harrison — contended there was a risk the players would be called to testify in a way that could be self-incriminating.
sheesh glass legs. I remember his daddy on the football field. Would have expected his son to be a little tougher.
We could only dream, if Grant is as classy as everyone says he is I dont see him opting out.. he should feel like he owes Orlando something for all the time he has missed, but DAMN that would be great to see him in Rockets red for a few years before he goes...
That's too bad. Hill is so frigging talented. Truth is, he would probably still be playing had they a shot at the playoffs. My knee-jerk response was, 'why doesn't this guy just hang it up' And then I think about the gobs of money he would be limping away from. I can't blame him for riding the bench in street clothes, I would do it to. No amount of pride is worth tens of millions of dollars. J
If he was REALLY classy, he would opt out and resign for a reasonable price. I don't think he should retire. He was very productive. When he was healthy, he still had a great first step.
If he was really a classy guy he would opt out and sign with us and finish what was never started with T-mac
Some people kind of got on my case when I said Grant Hill wouldn't finish the season back when it had just started. I like Grant Hill, and I was hoping that he would finish it, but it just doesn't surprise me. Hill had a great season and was a huge contributor to that team. It was fun watching him play, and he seemed ot mesh well with anyone and everyone on the floor. He played consistently at a high level.
