I know i have seen some people talking about making a deal for him, here is our chance! he is big athletic and a good shot blocker.

Looking at the $$$ he makes 1.5 mil. this year and 1.6 next year with a team option in 10/11 worth 2.5 mil.

We would probably have to do a luther head and Francis deal for sean williams and maurice ager, to get anywhere close to 125% it would work with williams and CDR but i doubt they want to do that!

    Thoughts?

    For his player profile here...http://hoopshype.com/players/sean_williams.htm

He is 6-10 235 llbs Great leaping ability and shot blocker, raw offensive game

No brainer if you have to give up Luther. Sean Williams is an incredible shotblocker with length and athletism.

Yes. If all it takes is Luther, get it done Morey. The Nets might not be looking for much since they now have both Josh Boone and Brooke Lopez ahead on him.

[rquoter]Impressive shot blocker... Great leaping skills... Very raw... Little offensive game... Must improve his rebounding skills... Low basketball IQ... Has some baggage.[/rquoter]

So we're going to go crazy about this guy just because he's tall...I smell Stro Swift potential in him (not much)...

He could definitely back Yao up at center. He is small though, but more than makes up for it with his shotblocking ability and freakish athleticism. I can see Morey wanting Dice Man more. He's a proven vet, can hit the mid range J, and will body up bigs. If you can get him for Francis, Luther, or a combination of the two than you have to do it.

He had a pretty good start to his rookie season, at least based on the numbers (I didn't catch too many Nets games). But I wonder why a seemingly talented player who's young who be so far back on the depth chart of a bad team?

    Edit from previous post.....

Luther for sean williams and CDR would work but i think they would rather do the luther and francis for Williams and ager!! i don't think they would want to lose both of those guys for luther

Why would you need both Head and Francis? Williams makes just over 1.5 and Luther makes just under 1.9. Done deal right there.

And while Williams is definitely athletic, long, and a gifted shot blocker, he is also immature and had disciplinary troubles in college. Morey, proceed with caution.

In addition, I'm not sure if New Jersey does it. Luther is an expiring contract, but they can probably do better.

He could definitely be our backup center for the next decade. His potential is pretty incredible, and he's a local boy. I know John Lucas spoke fondly of him and the two have worked together often. Unfortunately they had to work together because Sean is a bit of a pot head. Then again, Josh Howard would have us believing that 90 percent of the league is. I recall Lucas saying the kid had the potential to become the next Amare. I don't picture his offensive game ever being as good, but he is definitely the finisher that Amare is. Maybe a more defensive minded Amare? Easily seems worth the risk. Morey and the Rockets were high on this kid during the draft, and had scouts all over him

    2 more mixes.

He would be perfect for our 2nd unit. Hold down the defense, grab boards and catch an occasional oop from Brooks.

Impressive, yes. But you should never be "sold" because of a highlight video, especially a highlight video from an all-star weekend exhibition.

    Must Watch Sean WIlliams Interview

OMG! He's snoop dogg with a basketball. I have no idea what to say. He is charismatic, and I can't even fathom that he only started playing when he was 16. On the other hand it appears he's a party boy, and may have a bad attitude. That could obviously be tempered by our veteran core and being close to Lucas.

Sean Williams is impressive. Weren't the Rocket interested in drafting him when he came out?

He is still raw, but has lots of potential. Also, would he be able to play the C spot in the the western conference?
