    FX takes aim with 'Archer'
    Network orders six episodes of toon

    FX is setting aim on animation, ordering six episodes of the half-hour entry "Archer."

    Show, which is still a working title, comes from scribe Adam Reed and centers on the employees of an international spy agency.

    "Archer," which will launch in the fall, is seen as a strong companion to returning FX cult fave "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

    Characters on the show will be voiced by Jon Benjamin ("Family Guy"), "SNL" alum Chris Parnell, Aisha Tyler, Judy Greer and Jessica Walter.

    Benjamin plays Sterling Archer, a suave spy who goes by the code name Duchess. Walter plays his mother, while Tyler is his ex-girlfriend, Agent Lana Kane. Greer plays his secretary; Parnell is the spy agency’s comptroller.

    "It clearly fits the FX brand and we believe it will find support from the fans of ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,’" said FX original programming exec veep Nick Grad.

    Reed and Floyd County Prods. created "Archer," which comes from FX Prods.

    This debuts tonight after Sunny. Kind of a weird way to do it, maybe its just a sneak preview but the channel guide says to be announced and they keep showing these cryptic ads during the Sunny ad breaks.

    I wish I had recorded it because the show doesn't start til January. I'm sure the episode will end up online somewhere though.

    I watched the first 3 episodes last night on Uverse On Demand.


    Had me ROFLMAO'ing at several moments.

    I DVR it but every feed from FXHD sucks balls and has that freezing thing throughout the entire episode. I guess I'll have to switch to the crap version to make it watchable.

    It was a joke, not everything is the best thing ever....that's all I'm saying, hangout boy. :)

    By the way, I've been watching the show since it came on, four episodes or so....I could name at least 5 comedic sitcoms that are better than Archer right now. Probably 15 shows that are better if you include all genres. I'm not saying I don't like the show, but I'm not about to go overboard with it.
