Scum & Hosebags cancel the "Axl is the World's Greatest Narcissist" Tour

They were supposed to have played in Philly last thursday night. That date sold out so fast that they added on another show the following (friday) night.

Well at the thursday concert, the opening act (can't remember who it was) took the stage. They played their set. Then they played another set, and another. The opening act played almost 3 hours waiting for GnR to show up. GnR never showed up for the gig. They announced that GnR had canceled due to "sickness." All hell broke lose. People began throwing chairs, Beer bottles (plastic ones), fights broke out.

Needless to say, they cancled the second show as well.

 

I saw their concert here in Ohio. Opening acts sucked. They had some skater/hard rock band opening up then brought out a freaking DJ to open up. THen Guns takes an hour and a half to come on stage. He was in the arena (I know head of security and a couple other folks from my hockey PSLs) but they said he was not ready to come out yet.
Once they got on stage I loved the show, all the old hits from late 80's.
But Axel needs to understand he is not a superstar anymore.

 

Don't worry, GnR fans...there will always be 1988...

First rule of the music business...If one of the musicians in a band is wearing an empty KFC chicken bucket on his head, don't trust them...

...and I don't care what ANYBODY says, the Use Your Illusion albums kicked ass...

 

This is funny to me now, but I shouldn't laugh..

When I was in college, I stood in line at midnight to buy the Use Your Illusion's.

 

Reminds me of that concert they did with Metallica where James got his arm burned horribly and Metallica couldn't finish their set...so GnR decided not to go out and play that night so the freaking crowd started a riot. Axl is such an ass.

 

The showing up late thing is a gimmick they've used for at least 10 years...they didn't finish up their show at the Summit in '91 'til 2am or so. I find that annoying and a contrived way to seem more 'rock-n-roll'.

I'm excited about the new Axl Rose album though, may be pretty good. Although I have zero interest in seeing this GnR cover band play anywhere until I've heard the new stuff and decide it's up to snuff.

I'm more excited about the former GnR members' (Slash, Duff, Izzy) new project...rumor has it they've been working with Sebastian "JC Superstar" Bach. Unfortunately I also heard they were relying on the vocalist for lyrics...what they need to do is get together with the former singer for Buckcherry, an absolute screamer and great songwriter.
