Was happy to find out that the show was picked up by ABC and is getting it's rightful sendoff (they better end it after this season, I don't see how it can survive without JD). And I only seem to manage to catch the reruns, so I made it a point to watch tonight's episodes. Courtney Cox fits in well, though she's no Kelso. I hope Janitor's not gone for long. It had it's good moments, but I dunno if it's Zach Braff's beard or what, but it does feel like a show that is showing it's age. My only real complaint though is the horrible lighting...like I said I only manage to catch reruns, but I don't ever recall the sets being so damn dark before; what hospital operates like that? Comes off a little too dramatic.
Yeah, I've never seen a hospital hallway with the lights off ever. But on Scrubs they've always had "after hours" moments where few people where there and the Hospital was pretty dark.
I don't watch much tv, but after watching a few episodes of Scrubs, I have to say that not only is it one of the worst shows I've ever seen, but I also wonder how in the hell it's so immensely popular. Am I missing something?
You must not laugh much, that or you're just not watching it the right way. I didn't know there was a right way to watch TV, but yes, those are the only two possible conclusions.
you know I thought the same thing when I first watched and after watching a full season it became my favorite show of all-time. I think it is the best written show out there by far.
I wouldn't begrudge people for not liking it if they started watching in recent years when it hasn't been very good. These first 2 episodes on ABC though, they really got back to the basics of the show of juxtaposing silly comedy and great drama. That 2nd episode is definitely the kind of thing you send in for Emmy consideration.
I've seen all but the last couple seasons and I watched the new ones tonight. I like Courtney Cox but I got to say, I'm really tired of the gay jokes between Turk and J.D. It gets old.
I don't watch much modern drama or sitcoms and even when I do, I wait for re-runs... lol. I started watching Scrubs on re-runs about a year ago I think. I remember when I first watched it, I said to myself, this is so dumb, hospitals don't work anything like this. Of course, if I had continued watching, I would've seen just how inane they try to make every scene. I tried watching it again and it's quickly become a pretty funny show to me. I love watching it now (still watching the re-runs).
Anyone watching the new season? I think the episodes so far are fantastic, especially with the new interns. They are finally going back to what's been funny in the past seasons and stayed more away from the melodrama stuff, though some of them are still pretty touching.
They still end every episode with somebody learning a lesson while some sappy song playing in the background and the JD voice-over. I loved the earlier seasons, but after Season 6 I really started losing interest. I always loved the Cox-Jordan interactions.
the turk-jd gay thing in this past episode was hilarious... "we both wanted to hug each other, but we knew we couldn't" "i ran all the way around just to catch you" *embrace* haha my favorite new sound byte is the muffin sound, "donnie, whole oat me!"
it's had its moments, but i there was one night where the two shows were just completely unfunny and unbearable.
