    OK,

Yao is out, that is some horrid news. The Rockets are still in this dog fight....so what should they do?

Put in Deke - Nah...too old.

Find a replacement for Yao - Are you kidding who replaces the big guy?

I think it is time for the team to just say screw it and go small.....

Start Scola and Landry and go with what you got.

While the rest of the West goes bigger, we counter by going smaller....

Let's use the rest of the season to see what Scola can do on the low post, what Rick Adelman's offense can do.....

    Just GO GO GO !!!!

    DD

    PS...Get better Yao....

That's what is going to happen. I expect Scola and Landry to become full-fledged starters, each playing over 30 mpg. I guess that's one positive thing to look forward to. Deke may get minutes when we play the really big teams, but I expect Scola, Landry, and Chuck Hayes to mostly fill in for Yao. The Rockets will probably add another big for insurance as well.

It's the only realistic option, in my view. You know, until Tracy gets hurt, that is.

    There is no God.

I like the idea and it's probably our best option. I would still want Magloire to body up the Shaq's and Dwight Howard's of the world though.

It's the only chance this team has. They have to go small and be quick. Time to be the Suns of last year?

I don't think there is any replacement for Yao, but I think we might be able to absorb this more than you all think.

And I'm usually a huge pessimist.

So we are not the Phoenix Suns before the Shaq trade..yea buddy.

    go with this

Alston; Bobby Jax, Tmac, Landry, Scola.

You got speed and firepower on the wings.

    Comments?

Small ball sounds like the plan to take. See how far it will take the team, I still believe that Morey will still need to pick up big.

I think it ends up who we're playing. If we're playing SA, LA, we're screwed.

Yeah, we're doomed to playing small ball. Good thing Rafer Alston is a good open court point guard. But Deke's gonna have to suit up one way or another.

Props to DaDa for making a constructive thread. We are not out of this. I'm bummed as anyone, but theres not point in moping. We have to move forward and keep making a run at this thing.

Rockets can still make the playoffs, if they use Scola the right way. He has a low post game.

it all depends on the matchups of the playoffs....we need to dodge the suns and spurs. IMO we might be better off against the jazz without Yao....we might be able to squeak by the mavs? avery can't matchup josh howard with yao?

if the lakers don't have bynum, i think we can still give them a run.

I have no doubt this team can pick up the scoring slack. I think we are gonna rely on chuck, landry and scola more now and actually give gerald green a shot to help this team out. Wouldnt it be crazy if this team just suddenly turned into an efficient small ball team with yao out? I still have hope considering we still have a bunch of good players on our team.

Yeah, I agree DD. That would be the best senerio to go with. Hayes and Mutumbo can be the back-ups.

Going small was my first thought as well. Not that we really have any other choice. Season definitely is not over. You go to battle with what you got.
