"I sort of had to accept not being the guy I was before. I felt my performance level would take a hit, that I would not be the same player I was before." Bye bye Loser.
It figures that a guy like Pippen would stick around too long just to get the rest of the money from his contract. He has steadily gotten worse for the last 5 years. He should be hanging em up after this season.
"After I had those two disks pop out on me in 1998, it changed the whole mentality of my game," Pippen told the Tribune recently. "I sort of had to accept not being the guy I was before. I felt my performance level would take a hit, that I would not be the same player I was before." That little bit of information would have helped...say...oh..before we signed your butt to that contract! But I always wondered what kind of team we would have had, had Clyde not retired... Dream, Chuck, Scottie, Clyde, Mobley or Dickerson. Granted all of them would be past their primes, but you never know what kind of veteran chemistry they could have had...
"After I had those two disks pop out on me in 1998, it changed the whole mentality of my game," Pippen told the Tribune recently. Interpretation When Jordan retired & Jackson decided to take a year off in April of 1998, I just knew the world would see that I was no more than a role player to support MJ & that I had no one to carry me to another Championship. Wait, Houston has Dream & Barkley, they can carry me to another Championship. "I sort of had to accept not being the guy I was before. Interpretation Houston was looking to me to be the leader & I just wanted to be a follower, but they forced that big a** contract on me. That's what gave me the idea I later used to get out of Houston. I felt my performance level would take a hit, that I would not be the same player I was before." Interpretation I felt that my reputation as one of the top 50 players of all time was taking a hit & everyone could see me as the player I really was, so I decided to talk about Barkley's big a** & force the Rockets to trade me. Good riddance.
What horrible news, Scottie Pippen one of the 50 greatest players of all time is retiring. But I guess I knew this day would come because as they say "all good things must come to an end." I am just thankful that I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy Pippen's career. Well lets look on the bright side, he still has just about two years which means two more championships. I am so glad the Blazers have finally started to show what they are made of. 10-7 not a great record but i must admit its a big improvemnt. And after tonight's game with the Suns they will be 11-7 behind their leader Wallace. I am issuing a warning to the Lakers, once the Blazers are ready which will be later in the season, the Lakeshow is in trouble.

Here I was such a longshot from a small college … I didn't think I'd get drafted and now I'm in my 15th season," Pippen said. "I don't know if my career could have been any better.... Unless maybe (if) I had been able to go to the Lakers from Houston." [/QUOTE] Well thats too bad Quitten..........
Aw, poor, poor Quitten. The Rockets didn't give you a free pass to the championship??? LOL! You've got your money, but nothing else. No one respects you as a person nor your sorry, totally exposed thing you call game. Like Nelly says in #1, "two is not a winner..."!
What are you guys going to do with all your free-time without having Scottie Pippen to rag on all the time? Pathetic.
"I don't know if my career could have been any better." Pippen then began to smile and it's clear the devil inside him is at work again. "Unless maybe," he drawled, "I had been able to go to the Lakers from Houston." ----------------------------------------------- WHAT A ****ING CANCER! Remarks like that should never be said, even in jest. You don't talk about your desires to play for another team- a division rival, mind you- that's kicked your ass out of the playoffs two years in a row!!! What a savvy veteran.
"Unless maybe," he drawled, "I had been able to go to the Lakers from Houston." ----------------------------------------------- Now we know the answer to what that question is...
It should be noted that he is set to make 20 million next season, that he would sacrifice if he retires...
I thank god every day for letting me see the fall that his rep has taken. Now just be a man Quitten and give your top 50 jacket to Dominique you pantywaste!!!
That's why he is retiring after next season... He is grossly overpaid right now, his play will only decline, and he will get Garnettesque money...
I'm sorry, a friend told me that he was planning to retire after this season. Finally read the article for myself...
