I Think that he is a better Coach than Rudy and he could help us to recover, he is one of the best youngest coaches in the league and i think that he could be a great coach for the Rockets .

I would hire him as Rudy's top assistant, we lost a defensive presence when coach Berry left for Chicago. Our strategy of playing the pick and roll is horibble. Let's push the guards baseline and double with a big man forcing a little guard like Darrell Armstrong to make a good pass.

Since when has Scott Skiles been known for his defensive prowess?

The Rockets' strategy against the pick-n-roll did not change when Bill Berry left.

YEAH!! Let's dump Rudy and hire someone who has won no championships, and did nothing with a team similar to ours..

    Great idea!

I was going to suggest that all the Rudy bashers should propose who they would like to replace him with, instead of just b****ing - reason being I don't think there are any coaches available at Rudy's level. Scott Skiles - come on, are you kidding?

The Rocket's have had a tough year (injuries) and don't have the talent healthy or not to instantly contend for the top spots in the West this year anyway. Rudy will get them there. Wow some people are so impatient....

If he can give us 5-10 minutes a game, I think Skiles would be a great pickup as a third PG. Sorry Tierre!

    Good question.

    Anyone?
    Anyone?

    *crickets chirping*

Skile has always been known as a fierce competitor, and even holds some assist record (like 30 in a game with Orlando)....but did he ever make an all defensive team????

I wouldn't want Skiles as our coach but RUDY could use some more assistant help. All our coaches are push overs.Whose coaching this team anyway guys RUDY or FRANCIS? Who ever motivated Cato should be the coach!

I'd rather have Brent Price coaching our team than Scott Skiles

I want to preface this by saying that I love the fact that this thread was posted, because we should be able to post anything we want... NO MATTER HOW REDICULOUS IT IS!

This is - without a doubt - the worst idea I have ever heard. When I saw the name of the thread, I thought someone was jokingly suggesting we sign him to play 3rd string point guard because we could use his perimiter shooting.

As much as we criticize Rudy, all of us should remember that when he coached the olympic team, all of the players threw their support behind him and applauded him as a great coach. These are superstar basketball players, not fans who (becuase of their passion) don't give players and coaches their due during the rough times.

Scott Skiles (the coach) is about as good as Scott Skiles (the player). He's the essence of mediocre. Rudy was great at Michigan, was a great player for the Rockets, and is one of the top 5 coaches in the league. Rudy is a winner and in the quest for championships, the score stands: Rudy - 2; Skiles - 0 (and that's all the argument I need).

Signing Scott Skiles would not only give us veteran leadership, but a great 3 point shooter as well. I say we use him as a player/coach kind of like Pete Rose back in the 80's.

    I smell a championship!!!
