Considering many of you will watch Scola play for the first time in the Olympic Qualifier Tournament played in Las Vegas, I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread to talk and to post pieces of news about his game this summer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Now the Argentine team is playing the "Marchand Continental Cup" in Puerto Rico. cool jerseys, at least he's not hanging out with people with abnormally huge heads and thighs like the Bonz is
What a stud. brazil are no chumps. he's numbers are allways good.dosent matter who he is playing against. as is he's shooting clip. i'm teling ya fellas, this guy is Paol Gasol version 2.
He is good, but nothing like Gasol. If you get carried away, you will get dissapointed when you watch him play.
50% is efficient, but 23 points on 11/22 FGM/A means that Scola scored mainly on shots and had only 1 free throw made. That means the Brazilian defense was soft as hell, or Scola is soft as hell. I'd like to believe it's the former. Anyways, it's a good game for him either way. 23, 12 and 2 in 33 minutes are positively Elton Brand-esque even if it's international play against a team missing its top big man. We'll see how that translates to the league next season. I'm excited.
Thats because international basketball is alot different then the nba. it's alot more skill oriented. you'll allways see less fouls and free throw attempts then you'll see in the physical nba.
Gasol might have a better post game, but scola has a better mid-range game and looks to be a very good accumilater of points. he's very, very smart player off the ball.also gasol was'nt exactly a star in europe when he came to in the nba, granted he was younger then scola, but i see no reason why scola cant be a very similar player to gasol.
Gasol was very, very young in his days in Barcelona. But there is no comparison between those players. Gasol is a player to build a team around, Scola will be a good role player. If Scola had Gasol's height then it would have been different.
11-22 shooting is not efficient to you?!11 I understand he still shot it a hell of a lot of times, but hitting at a 50% clip ain't bad. He's not going to be getting that many shots a game here in Houston. So if he can shoot at a decent pace I'm excited.
i'm brazilian our defense without Nene/Varejao is ridiculous, Splitter have a foul trouble but even that, i'm excited with Scola's numbers in Las Vegas, he will be the first option in Argentina's team, that's good cause we can see what he can do vs USA and Brazil with Nene, Varejao (maybe) and Splitter and sorry my english
Scola's video,VS Canada,he got 31 points. You can see it after about ten seconds advertisement. http://www.kuliwang.com/post/525.html
