I've only had the chance to see Game 1 (only game televised downunder so far) and I just wanted to ask. Is Scolandry nullifying Boozer? Boozer was a beast in last years series and he was taking Yao to the cleaners, this series he has been kept fairly quiet numbers-wise, and yet I havent heard much to suggest why this might be?
This is why im convinced if Yao was playing the Jazz would be at Utah beaten already. Boozer destroyed us last year because we had noone who could guard him. This year we have someone who can, someone who can outhustle him and someone who can dunk on him. Good going Carlos Hope to see you on Sunday
I can't say I disagree with that assumption but I also think if Yao was healthy we wouldn't even be matched up with the Jazz. We would easily have been a top 3 team in the West and there's no convincing me otherwise.
I don't get it. Last year at this time Boozer looked like a 1st team All-NBA caliber PF. He was driving, posting up, getting and 1's, hitting his mid-rangers, etc etc. Absolutely killing us! Now he looks soft, scared and ordinary. It's quite a sight to see how an offensive minded coach like Adelman had managed to neutralize a guy JVG and Yao had their hands full with.
Deke is a far better defender than yao. What deke does is play to his length and yao don't. When deke is iso'd against boozer, his knees are bent, his ass is down and his arms are up. If it were a clock, deke is at 2:30. Put yao in that spot and he's 12:30. Yaos failur to learn from one of the greatest defensive centers lead me to a conclusion. If yao was guardin boozer, boozer would have the same numbers he had last yr.
no question in my mind deke, hayes, and scola are the reason boozer has sucked this series. yao made boozer look like a HOFer
Scola alone is almost as good as Boozer in this series. Throw in Landry and we have a fair matchup there. I'm extremely proud of Scola playing against Harpring, Kirilenko, Boozer, Okur and Sloan's defense in his first playoff appearance. Valuable experience. Let's finish them off.
Don't see Scolandry on the list. Sorry. Nice to see we held the best team in the west to 69 points though.
Kenny Smith is are dumbtard. Not being cocky, but everyone talks about this Jazz team like they are Malone and Stockton. Hello? It'll be a while before we can put them anywhere near those teams. Sloan is an amazingly consistent coach and that deserves props, but we did win a couple of games without Yao. Yet, every person calls this a knockout. Heck, win or lose we lasted longer than the acclaimed Phoenix Suns. Shaqfu aint got nothin on MacFu
