Congratulations to Scola, Landry, and Brooks (he also got one vote)!

Scola got 27 first and second team votes combined, which means of the 29 eligible GM's (Morey couldn't vote for him) there were 2 GM's that didn't think Scola was deserving of even a 2nd Team vote. Who could they be?

    Let's assume 1 is San Antonio :p

Yeah, hopefully this will teach people to hold off when calling for the guillotine after draft night.

that is a really good point. everyone was pissed the day after draft day. I just hope we can do the samething during this year's draft. Go make it happen Morey.

I'm guessing morons who think that since Scola is old for a rookie that he's really not a rookie -- the same dumb arguements that people had against Ichiro when he was in the running for rookie of the year in the MLB.

The term rookie has nothing to do with age.

Of course, some people forget (I often do) that we didn't get Scola until shortly after the draft, so at the time everyone still thought our PF spot was Chuck Hayes and a 2nd round pick most of us had never heard of. Some of the frustration is understandable, but in most cases it went overboard.

Houston is the only team that gets 2 guys in the first and second rookies teams.

Scola had a great rookie year. Of course Durant was better but he was number 1 in his team, even in his rookie year.

Scola gave us that what we had missed previous seasons. Scoring and help from power forward position. Now he can only be better

Let's not crown Landry as the greatest just yet.

I mean, look who was on the nba 2nd rookie team back in 2005-2006:

Yes, the untradeable one, Luther Head.

Haha jk. Congrats to Scola and Landry. Way to make us proud! (and ab0 for getting his 1 vote)

Well, I am happy to admit I was wrong in my opinion and reaction, and eat crow.

I LOVED the Scola signing, but was quite upset at draft time. I wanted us to trade up to get Crittendon or Thaddeus Young, and take Baby Glen Davis with the second round pick. I wanted us to buy more picks too, and pick up Fernandez.

Landry looked clueless in his first interviews and had a terrible summer league, so I just thought we wasted our pick. I warmed up to Brooks, once I realized that Adelman was so high on him, and especially when he won best rookie in the summer. I expected Scola to be pretty good, but he has surpassed my expectations too.

This year's draft doesn't seem so deep like last year, so I'm not expected to get much this time. But, in an interview, Morey said he felt there were players at our draft position who could help the team. So, if he feels that way, I'll trust him with that. It's really nice to trust the management drafting for the first time in many years. But, I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if we traded this years pick for one next year, so we can move up, or to someone like Memphis to get Miller and Navarro.

As much as I'd love the team to upgrade, I'm not expecting that much this summer. I'd be thrilled if we got Miller and Navarro in a package, or something else of that nature. We do have some trading chits, so that's probably going to be our best route to improve, rather than through the draft or FA this year.

But, yes, I trust Morey more this year, than I've trusted Rocket's management in a long time.

    Congrats Scola

I think Al Thornton could be the best rookie out of this class.

wow horford got more points than durant!

makes me question the aaron brooks pick even more, why didn't we just get tiago splitter? it was clear he was a steal at that late in the round.

but I'm still hopeful that brooks will develop into a rajon rondo
