So i was in a discussion the other day with a couple friends and I claimed that in comparison I would take Scola/Landry over Gasol/Odom. Everyone disagreed. So heres the thing: First: we can all agree that Scola OR Landry is better than Odom. In contrast, Gasol is better than Scola AND Landry. Who would you choose? I thought Landry and Scola were better because in my opinion Landry is pretty close to the level of play with Gasol. Scola and Landry as a tandem give you energy, effort, points, rebounds, and stellar defense on a night in and night out basis. Same cannot be said about Odom. If I am GM I would take Landry/Scola above Gasol/Odom. What do you think?
I think that there is a street outside. If I close my eyes and walk in that direction, a bus is sure to end my misery.
I would love to see the homers respond to this but honestly im going with Odom/Gasol. At least Odom can handle the ball drive. Gasol can shoot and all but they both have something Scola and Landry don't have....HEIGHT!!!!
I love Scola and Landry's intangibles and how they mesh within our system, saying that Gasol is an ELITE big man with a devasting inside/outside game. I really dislike Odom because he lacks the fire and heart to be a GREAT player however on those nights when he "gets" it then he might be a top 10 TALENT. Sorry Gasol/Odom would have to be my choice even though I really dislike Odom and Gasol looks like he hasn't taken a shower in weeks but dam he has a sweet game.
ODom be a top 10 talent? you gotta give me whatever your on... And everyone is voting based on Gasol being elite. Landry is playing at a equivalent or even better level than gasol right now.
Odom has the talent to be a top 10 player. The problem with Odom has always been that for some reason or another, he never seems to be giving it his 100%. His head really seems in the head. But based on his ballhandling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense, he is a potentially great talent. But he never gets past the potentially. He needs to get head upside the head a couple of times. Afterall, look at what he did this past summer . . . :grin:
When Odom gets off his lazy a$$ and stops eating kitkats then YES the dude is a gifted 6-10 player who can play 3 different positions at any given time and can handle the ball, shoot from the outside and post up almost anyone. Gasol had been hurt for the first part of the season but anyway you can't just compare right now...lets see where they stand by seasons end??? If you seriously want to compare Gasol and Landry right now though... Landry Points Rebounds Assists FG% 16.6 6.0 0.6 57.3 Gasol(With Kobe Freaking Bryant on his team) Points Rebounds Assists FG% 17.7 12.7 3.9 57 I hate to be supporting a Laker but right now its obivous.
This poll basically separates the Homers from Real fans.. Anybody who seriously thinks a Scola/Landry is better than a Gasol/Odom loses all respect from me...
Gasol is probably one of the top 3 players at his position. I'd give up both Scola and Landry for him. Add in Odom, and this is no contest.
When you say top 3 do you mean guys that are actually PF's or are playing the pf position because Im sorry I don't see it

gasol and odom dont care for odom but how can you say landry and scola are better then him? theres a lot of dimension. it think odom can play the 5 or the 3 better then either. I think odom is a better passer then either so what are we judging??
