If this really works then it's an incredible breakthrough. Yeah STDs may increase because of irresponsible guys (and girls), but this should really cutdown on unwanted pregnancies. They won't have the "but I can't feel anything with this on" excuse...yeah, now they can have all the herpes and crap they want...at least they won't bring a child into a potentially bad situation. I bet condom manufactures are hoping this doesn't happen b/c they're definitely going to take a hit in sales...or if they're smart they'll start producing them.

Sign me up... since my wife's been on the pill, her sex drive has tailed off at least 20%. I have to take a pill every morning for my acid reflux anyway, so I'm used to it. I would love a non-surgical way to "shoot blanks."

Regarding the article, I can tell you from experience that this is MAJORLY preferable to the surgical method.

 

1. Seriously - May give some false positives in professional athletes.
2. I generally don't like messing with that area too much. I figure I would wait for 5 yrs and make sure there are no long term affects before I even entertain the idea

the current pill uses hormones.

the new pill being developed would knock out a protein required to conceive.

What if there is a hidden side effect that say, numbs your penis to the point of feeling nothing? Or turns you into a vampire! I mean those scientists in I Am Legend thought that they found a cure for cancer, but instead they turned everyone into vampires!
