does anyone know if cops give out speeding tickets in school zones even if school is out? i pass by a couple of elementary schools on my work, and at this time of year, it's completely deserted. it's just annoying having to drive at 20 mph with no one around. and please don't start a diatribe about how am an unlawful citizen. regardless of the answer, i'll probably just drive 20 anyway just to be safe. i would just like to know.
There's one by my house that flashes and it never flashes during the summer or on holidays, so I always assumed the limit doesn't apply if school's not in.
yea, if there's no flashing, i figured it would be ok. unfortunately, one of the schools i drive by still flashes the lights during holidays. well, technically, today for instance, isn't an actual holiday but school is out. and the lights still flash.
I knew someone that got a ticket in a school zone when all the kids were off of school, but the flashing light was still blinking. The cop told him it still applied, because you never know if kids are having a practice of some sorts. I think the cop was just being a prick though, because I've never heard of that happening to anyone else.
